Bieber Fever is officially a plague

If you ever wanted a demonstration about what is wrong with the world, watch an MSNBC newscaster interrupt a United States Congresswoman who is talking about the NSA, for the important breaking news that Justin Bieber, arrested for DUI and drug possession is about to have his bail set.

Relevent aside: THIS. THIS is why North Americans don't protest like they are in the Ukraine when the government is doing absolutely horrendous shit. Because our fucking news sources interrupt our government officials talking about those abuses, because a pop star is about to pay his 2500 dollar bail out of his pocket change and go back to his hotel to probably keep drinking.

United States seems to have a big audience with pop stars though. How dare you think this wasn't urgent~!~!

That kid is still alive? Youd think he would be killed by now.

Unfortunatly making this thread isnt helping the cause of making him less news worthy.

I'd rather he be extremely famous as a source of disdain and pity than moderately famous as a source of "quality" "music"

Funny putting music in its own quotes. It just has that extra slap in the face of implying that not only is it not quality music, but it is not really even music.

I think this is more about American news and how they interrupted news about the Government for an entertainment stub that is definitely not as significant.

Seriously dev. Please think about what you said.

I see your point, but it's one of the main reasons there's crap like him running around.
People talk about him -> Famous
His music is shit -> Famous
                      Hot (?) -> Famous

If people stopped caring about the three mentioned qualities, would people really care about him anymore?

This whole ideology of "why make quality products when we can make shit that sells" is what's ruining this world. There are people who genuinely try and don't get that much recognition. The world has its priorities backwards methinks.

edit: back to the thread, if a pop star goes to jail and it's more important than a government official talking about something legitimately important, who runs the country?

"Congresswoman let me interrupt you just for a moment."

Seriously? Not even stopping to say her whole title is quite frustrating in itself, considering she gave time and privilege to give this interview, while in fact the fucker did not lift a finger. I can't add the fact to the equation that she was interrupted by this shit, it's too much to compute. I mean, this is the biggest promotion they could have ever done to this wimp.

Whatever happened anyway when she got back on air? I'm guessing she never actually had the chance?

I imagine she didn't know what they cut -to- so they probably came back and carried on as normal. I suspect when she finds out what they cut her off for she'll have some choice words.

Of course, I'm just wondering if there were any hints of culpability in the air.
I mean, considering how she handled her phrasing and made a sudden halt beforehand, I'm thinking this did not leave her unmoved. Kind of sad for a station to let their journalist in a dead end.

                            I'm anxiously waiting for a volte-face then.

Edit: As for the title, I guess that's not a big issue in the USA? I am under the impression that it is an informal shortcut.

Well her "whole title" would just also be her last name, which was already mentioned and on display at the bottom of the screen while she was talking.

Referring to someone as only "Congresswoman" is perfectly normal. What other title do you think she'd have?
