*pokes the lump of meat FFR calls a rock section*

I've been playing FFR for a few months now and the one thing that pisses me off the most...or just about the only thing I don't like. Is that the rock section in FFR is so amazingly terrible.

I have yet to hear one decent song put into the FFR rock section. All that's in there are some songs with a bunch of loud and unskillful drum and guitar beats with another guy hollering/growling to them. Also there's some Nu-Rock BS in there which is, dare I say worse than the other rock music there.

I know that a bunch of people are probably thinking one of these two things, "Well why don't you do something about it?!" or "We can't do shit about it thanks to copyright laws!"

Well if the rock fans of FFR banded together maybe we could change this. You'd be amazed how many talented undiscovered rock bands you could find if you just dug a bit. For example you could put up flyers saying that this could be the exposure that an undiscovered band needs. Or if you have friends or a friend who plays in an undiscovered band talk to them about it.

This is just an idea that I thought could maybe help expand FFR a bit and even get the word out about it even more. Maybe this could even give some of you something to do besides sit around the computer all day. Well I hope you take to thought what I have told you!

Non-synthesized songs don't have steady BPMs so decent steps are harder to make.

And there's nothing wrong with Stay With Me or either Excluded song.
I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.

Yes.. the BPM changes often in rock songs, as I found out the hard way trying to make rock simfiles. They take literally forever... geez.

I like Stay With Me, but everything else sucks.

Rock songs can have steady BPM. Personally, I would like to see someone do a file with Seven Nation Army.

I think we should try to get some better rock. I like Celldweller, but it's like electronica rock or something. I think we should get some undiscovered punk bands on here.

Also, Seven Nation Army has probably already been done. Have you looked?
looks like I'll have to make steps because you made me think of it.

No, live drummers will not have steady BPMs. It's simply a matter of human error.

It depends on the kind of rock, mostly punk rock will never have a steady bpm. But I'd like to see some Franz Ferdinand on here. They have pretty staedy drum beats and when it does change it's in a pattern. Also ever think of making the stepfile to the vocal or the guitar part???

Even if the stepfile is to the vocal or guitar you still need a constant BPM so you can match the notes up.

There is a DDR spinoff at a local cyaber-cafe in my town that did a perfect stepfile to Staring at the Sun by the Offspring. If they can pull that off then I have a feeling you can do something with a much steadier song.

if you can get permission from better bands to use their stuff, then by all means, please, get it. I totally agree with you about the rock section, btw.
