    eff ell stew de yo

    got it installed and idk if i should start trying to actually use it
    whenever i have any musical idea i plug away at it in ableton 9 but it takes so fucking long that i lose steam and give up hope
    if anything, is FL quicker to get rolling on projects?

                      Honestly, it's easier to use in a short time than Live. But I'm not sure how much more effective it is in comparison.

                      Though basically: "A DAW is only as good as its user."

                          all of the hot shots that use FL (Savant, Seven Lions) say they simply use it because the interface and gui makes it so damn incredibly easy and quick to get ideas out. Hell their entire slogan is "fastest way from your brain to your speaker"

                          I prefer it over all other daws simply because of that. Producing takes a shit load of time, but stuff like the super easy piano roll and macro controls diminish that time a bit


                          that being said, ableton and other daws are still much better for things like signature controllers *cough* launchpad

                              FL Studio is the bomb, it's so user intuitive. It took so much less time to get to grips with than any other software *cough* Logic *cough*.

                                          i mean to add all my ideas and structure them before fine tuning and making it actually sound good, so past the point of actual creation
                                          like for me it's creation -> editing -> mastering
                                          so if i can get most [or all] of the creation out of the way in fl then i can finish it up in ableton and do what FL can't

                                                  finale with a midi controller (i use some shit yamaha keyboard from the 1980s or something) and decent hotkey knowledge is fucking amazing

                                                  write shit out in 5 seconds flat and then plenty of room to tweak it
