    a vocal thing

I sat in front of a metronome and a microphone for twenty minutes and this happened.
Not mixed, eq'd, edited, or anything.

I'm thinking about starting maybe writing songs like this and actually taking the time to produce them. What do you guys think? Worth it at all?

well again, 20 minutes of work on my dad's ancient computer.
I will be re-doing this when i have access to better recording equipment and more time to dedicate to it. I know it's out of tune and not all that well recorded, i'm looking for feedback moreso in the stylistic side of things. y'know? but i appreciate the honesty :P

i mean, i wasn't commenting on the correctness of pitch, but more of the chord stacking, i.e. what notes you chose to be in each chord.

like, when you do vocal a capella, you have bass/tenor/alto/sop (maybe all in guy range).

when you have like 3 different bass parts clustered really close together pitch wise, it gets very mushy. There's usually at least a fifth separating bass/tenor, then alto and sop can be a little more close together. It leads to a much more solid sounding clean chord

gotcha. I was trying some things with the layering that hopefully when I re-record this will make more sense as parts will be a lot higher/lower in the mix so hopefully then it will make more sense. If that continues to be an issue though I'll probably remove / alter pitches. Thanks for reminding me of that. I spent ten years in choirs so I when I first started this piece there was a bass part, tenor one, tenor two, and an altoish part. but then I kinda just went nuts. I might have to remember to reign myself in :P

lol, considering this was a spur of the moment thing, i can't promise that a doge related song won't appear at some point, but I'm planning on doing pieces like this in at least a semi-serious manner so, no worries, joke songs will be far and few between
