    Mystery Path Through Infinity

    Beware: loud chords

    https://soundcloud.com/zaevod/mystery-path-through-infinity

    This was so hard to make, and my first attempt at a piano solo music. I love feedback.

    EDIT:

    * Added reverb effect;
    * Small randomization on note velocity/duration;
    * Slight shift on the start time of some notes on faster sections.

      from a musical standpoint it's lovely

      Little pointers on mixing;
      compress the highs a little to get it sounding more analog and less MIDI

      add stereo delay/reverb

      quantize to be more realistic (pick random notes and make them a 64th - 32nd off to get the real piano player 'imperfect' sound)

      change the velocity of notes to get it sounding real as well, all the notes are the same volume

      Keep it up!

        I know almost nothing about mixing :/

        I'm playing with reverb right now.

        Thanks, but this bit is false. I did change the velocity on most parts.

          What a lot of people do is have higher peaking notes at the loudest in arpeggios and then lower notes at varying lower volumes

          honestly people just try and make it as if they recoarded this on a real piano, that's the whole goal

          Love the notation though, lovely and would make a great file

              Way better mixing this time around. I still think you don't derp around enough with the note velocity, it makes an enormous difference on songs like this.

              I think you'd do a lot better with a higher quality bank with different recorded samples for different velocity settings.

                Anyone knows a simfile author who might like this?
