    New Boards of Canada stuff

Record store day release of typical Boards of Canada shenanigans, for real this time. There are apparently six of these promotional releases out there, each of them having six numbers that will supposedly comprise a whole. twoism.org is freaking out like always, but at least this time it's legit. Looks like we're ACTUALLY going to have a new album.

Good year tho innit? New Autechre, new BoC, new Bibio even.

The mysterious nature of Boards of Canada is so alluring i get goosebumps

Wtf do the numbers mean though hahaha

Ok, with watch?v=lub89YirmC4&hd=1 reveiling the 3rd set of values, and this showing the 4th set, so far the numbers are:
              "------ / ------ / 717228 / 936557 / ------ / ------"
Where are the others? This is so creepy and so exciting at the same time! Love BoC!

BoC really does know how to campaign their shit

              Edit:

                    omg what

I am so so so so excited. Just when I was starting to be exhausted with the number shit.

In an interview one of the sandison brothers said:

"[We] do actually believe that there are powers in music that are almost supernatural. I think you actually manipulate people with music..."

Maybe they're onto something here, look at how some of the people are scrambling and deep in overthinking and trying to read into something BoC might have just chosen simply at random (the number keys). : o

I'm so interested to hear what they will sound like, I hope they're still like they were when they left off.

boards of canada promo on toonami makes complete sense (and sick as hell)

this is because well, adult swim bumps used to feature a ton of BoC stuff

EDIT: Oh wut thats the album name? Neato. 8] REALLY interested to hear what the theme of these sounds will be. I hope it's as strong as it was in all their other releases. For some reason I've gotten an impression that this will be Corsair the album. But I could be wrong.

I've always imagined Corsair as a glimpse into the emptiness of a dead field, feeling the heat of the sun that's dried out all the corn stalk fragments, dust floating around, and someone solemnly walking through it.

Though usually I get a bunch of simultaneous imagery, that's just something that sticks out though. BoC has that aesthetic nailed down, the decaying and aging.

EDIT: I don't post on the Twoism boards much anymore but I made this post a minute ago:

Just sitting here looking at this image with Corsair playing. I feel like I get it. It shows the more barren and uninhabited land in the foreground, and it shows the cream of the crop lingering in the background. Tomorrow's harvest, the harvesting of that land into building infrastructure, evolving societies, making ground to new places and new technologies. But when you make a new harvest, you strip something down. A freshly harvested corn field is as barren as ever. And to harvest the land to build the next big city on, is to strip down what was once thriving there.

I think this album might play on the feeling of seeing your past change rapidly, get built over, making the appreciation for how things once were even stronger. But of course there's a bitter aftertaste of melancholy there too.
Just what my impulse says, I could be totally wrong. But I kind of hope I'm not, that would be a really solid theme.
