    Composition Key

Hey FFR what's the key you're usually composing on ?
Mine is A. Then I just happen to change the tone to one that is in tune with my whims and all.
Suimega is my present username!!! (b-but feel free to call me scylaax anyway) | https://suimega.bandcamp.com/

      Re: Composition Key

My electronic stuff usually starts in C major, then I just change the pitch~
But the pitch I mainly transcribe it to are C# Major or Bb Major.

When improving on my trumpet it's mostly D minor/ concert E minor

        ?
usually i work with basic chord progressions or melodies that my hands or mind go to and work in whatever key that may be..

why would you have a default composition key?

Don't know why, but the stuff I normally hear in my head is either C# Minor, A Minor (probably because of relative major), or F#

            Re: Composition Key

Depends on what I feel like tbh

D Minor, G Minor, any Jap in Sen, no limitations and no preferences really, except when I had no idea about anything music-wise I just made songs in C-Major because the "black keys are bad" LOL

For metal, G minor or E minor.

Electronics/chip/whatever is usually in C minor. Those are the only three keys I know how to write in lmao

I do everything by ear and know little to nothing about scales and keys.

I don't really have a go-to key, but I love making stuff in Ab minor.

                    Re: Composition Key

I work with C, but if I'm trying to remix something, I work with whatever the original song's key is.

                      Re: Composition Key

I go with wherever my head goes, I never really default to a key. Occasionally I will notate something in b or e minor if it's a specific difficult progression, then transpose.
