If you had to hear one LSDJ from me

    It'd probably be this one

    https://soundcloud.com/the-one-electronic/phantasmagoria-white-coasts

    100% Gameboy

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    Original version here: phantasmagoria.bandcamp.com/track/white-coasts

    I'm on the white coasts
    everything is right
my heart is out of control
    but beating perfectly in time
    and as I lay here
    on this bed outside
I only wish that I, wish that I

    could stay - here
    Bahay Kalipay
    happiness over fear
I dream that I could wake here
    what a beautiful place
I know I'll long for the taste
    of pristine perfection
    of overwhelming direction
the feeling of love and connection
waking to the sound of celebration

    I found a place
    on the island
    Palawan
    I found a place

You really know how to make that Gameboy growl. That bass design is fantastic... you manage to pull sounds out sounds that I rarely hear the Gameboy produce.
Excellent stuff, the arp breakdown at 1:00 is also really fantastic, but overall this rules as a whole.

I've had some great teachers this track was actually really hard, I had to pull out every technique I know in LSDJ to get it to sound juuuust right.

This is sweet. You hear a lot of things you wouldn't initially think to hear come out from a Gameboy... I love it. :3

This is a flat recording. I never really do any post because I'm a bit of a purest when it comes to straight out of the Gameboy stuff. I'll probably end up doing it anyway!

Nope. The filter sound you get is literally a waveform cycling through different shapes, nothing else.

where do LSDJ authors get their WAV channel samples from?

I rarely if ever use samples in my wav channel. That bass is just a cycling saw wave. When I do use samples I make them myself and import them into the rom.

the one thing LSDJ artists do is write their own wave form. It's sort of their signature bassline.

nobody ever uses sampling for actual instruments except voices and percussion lol

Can you explain cycling saw wave? Like, cycling to what. It sounds really gritty and not like something simple at all lol

In my song the bass synth has something like 20 steps of differently shaped saw waves in which it cycles through back and forth to get that sound. In fact, the bassline at the breakdown is the exact same synth as the growl but slowed down. You can easily hear all the steps!
