mmm this is very nice. perfect summer weather crusin' radio music.

Obviously, the 8-bit is a nice touch and synthesizes well with the final product. Good stuff, as expected, though.

What can I say: KgZ is the ultimate mainstream pop production factory.

separately each part of the song sounded great, however together it sounded a bit awkward to me, especially the first ~26seconds, however from ~1:30 to the end I think it sounded much better

wasn't sure at the start, but the chorus is quite interesting! something you could try is, for triangle waves, making the first 1/60th of a second (and maybe the last too) an octave lower (/higher). I realize raw triangle waves is what NES does, so this is a trick I use a lot to make it slightly less blocky

Re: What if 8bit music was in pop?

It is pretty repetitive for my taste, which is my main complaint about mainstream pop songs in general. But as a concept I like where this could go. I first thought of it when I was listening to chiptune radio and heard chip music with vocals, but I do not make any digital music yet. Still trying to get into that whole field.

tl;dr I say go for it, but try to not make repetitive songs.

I think people mostly attributed "retro style" as the genre for emulating older chip hardware. Idk what the exact rules are for that lol

i really like this. like everything

some of the vocals in the chorus seem to slightly lack prominence, though, but it's close to just right
