Stopped at "Unity Web Player Install Now!"

It'd be better if he did it in Flash or Java Applet form.

So because it requires a plugin which isn't available for my setup I won't be able to play or review your friend's game.

Get a plugin which doesn't exist. Gotcha!

I'm going to guess you're a Windows user although you're possibly a Mac OS X user.

Let me ask you, do you see Linux anywhere on there? No. No you do not.

So no, Unity is not better than Flash or Java for web game development. Presently, it is worse. Once they release a Linux version, then we'll see. But at present you are better off making web games in Flash or Java.

It looks like you might need beefier hardware to run Unity content as well vs. Flash or Java Applet hardware requirements.

                Ohaider:

For web games development you want greatest portability. If you're just making Windows games or whatever, that's fine, but then you're better off making them standalone programs which can take full advantage of everything the Windows or .NET APIs have to offer, rather than in-browser games.

If there was something which only worked in-browser on Linux but not on other systems I wouldn't suggest using that for development either so, no, I'm not the one being biased here.

I suppose as long as something works for you you don't care if it works for anyone else though, am I right? Developers may as well make beefed up resource hog programs that only work on exactly your computer but no one else's because that way it'd work for you and who cares about anyone else, am I right?

Oh and heaven forbid if your hardware or machine can't handle some game or something. Then it matters a lot, right? Because then it matters to you
