I program (sometimes), play DDR and FFR (and ts and kbo?? but not ftb) and Stepmania spread/solo and make charts for all the above (sometimes), make chiptune music in Famitracker (sometimes), live in Australia (always), drum (often), like Zoids (always), roguelikes (sometimes), tower defense games (occasionally), shumps (I'm terabad since I never practice these rofl), puzzles, maths, science and geeky computer science things and have a minor cult following. Why did you make a specific class for yourself instead of using a more general class like a person and give your name as a variable?

Out of the ones I've used so far C#. I enjoy the type safety checking at compiling (as compared to php/javascript/python which don't complain until the line is actually executed), tools like lambdas and linq. It's like Java with all the roughness ironed out, and VS2010 is a great IDE too - I'm always finding new stuff in it that makes life easier.
because you can't tell a non-Patashu to .MakeAwesomeSoloCharts();
j'ai envie de plaisir x2: Some of the simfiles I stepped for FFR/SM were stepped under the mindset 'I'm going to step this is accurately as I can, oh hey this is really dumb and stupid and I have no idea what's going on, WELP **** fun let's submit this and get 10/10s for technical accuracy during the judges'. Think j'ai envie, grist, frictional nevada, pokemon glitch battle, etc. This is a really bad approach to have and I apologize for all of these files existing. In particular, just because you can step something as accurately as possible doesn't make it unconditionally a good idea. If (when??) I step something again I want to try an approach inspired by kil/don style stepping and this amazing file: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYebfQaC7M8
Visitor: I was not under the influence when I stepped this awesome tune.

Re: var me = new Patashu(); AskAnything(me)
You're playing poker with a tiger, a koala, and a teddy bear. You're holding 7s Kh and the flop is 5d 7c Qc. The tiger is wagging its tail around a lot and it checks. The koala bets minimum and the teddy bear hesitates for a while and raises to 3x. Do you fold, call, raise, or run screaming?
"Blame it on bad luck" is rated 24 and "Waltz in the rain" is rated 50. I've played both songs quite a lot of times and I don't get why my best raw score on the 50 file is 16-0-1-1 and my best score on the 24 file is 28-0-0-1. Is this seriously supposed to happen?
You are trapped in a southern town's drained olympic sized pool in the winter month of December. There are dozens of large birds, crows, hawks, eagles perched on a clothes line above you, but too far to reach. In your pocket you have some loose peanuts, a mirror, three rubber bands and sunglasses. How do you escape the pool?
Turkey. Was the bird named after the country or the country named after the bird?
Theorem: If you have a large enough number of monkeys, and a large enough number of computer keyboards, one of them will sight-read AAA death piano on stealth. And the ffr community will forever worship it. Proof Example

I guess I do whatever action has the worst odds of winning because I'm bad at poker, mafia, etc. type games where you have to psychologically predict the other players. So obviously I raise lolYou're playing poker with a tiger, a koala, and a teddy bear. You're holding 7s Kh and the flop is 5d 7c Qc. The tiger is wagging its tail around a lot and it checks. I recall that files in FFR are rated based on their difficulty to AAA. Waltz in the Rain is much harder to AAA than Blame it on Bad Luck due to its non-constant bpm, arbitrary speed patterns and so on - dis-proportionate to how much more difficult it is to play otherwise. On top of that, Blame it on Bad Luck might bore you and lead you to mess up more - but if you are newer to the game the former file is easier again. (See why assigning files to difficulties is tricky? There's more than one way to measure 'hard'.)"Blame it on bad luck" is rated 24 and "Waltz in the rain" is rated 50. It's clear that if I get the clothes line to snap on one end OR sag low enough to reach it I can escape. The main approaches are to start a fire on the clothes line, encourage the birds to congregate in one area (or break it) or snap it using some projectile. If the sunglasses are sufficiently reflective, I could try using that and the mirror to focus enough sunlight on one area to start a fire. (Maybe even get some flaming peanuts and throw them with the rubber band? Lol, is that the solution?). Do birds like eating peanuts? I could try shooting them all at one area of the clothes line and see if they all gather around it. I can't think of anything else to try.You are trapped in a southern town's drained olympic sized pool in the winter month of December. I think it's co-evolution. Think about whether Earth first referred to the planet Earth or to the soil-substance under us. The usages overlap and so they built up together.Turkey. Was the bird named after the country or the country named after the bird?Patashu makes Chiptunes in Famitracker:

What is your opinion of C++, as well as the new standard (C++11)?Out of the ones I've used so far C#. Re: var me = new Patashu(); AskAnything(me)
I was actually reading about C++11 lately. 'auto' looks great, lambdas look great, constructor chaining looks good, override/final look good, rvalues and move constructors pique my geeky sensibilities. What I'm noticing though is that these are all features (except for rvalues of course) C# has already had for some time - so while C++ is still considered the language for programs that need to run fast or on embedded platforms, it's not a good fit for anything else. Although this stuff definitely lets it catch up, you still need to think about much more than you have to in managed languages, like how to manage memory and resources (RAII, smart pointers, etc are still all opt-in), how to design your classes with copy constructors, etc in a safe way, how to handle strings and buffers safely, how to handle pointer arithmetic safely, etc. all in the name of performance. It is definitely a better language for flexing your brain on, but most projects don't need it.
Some programmers are of the view that students should be forced to learn hard languages rather than easy ones (C++ and Haskell instead of Java and Python) to weed out people who shouldn't be allowed to program anyway. This is the kind of thing that would make for a great debate topic and I haven't fully made my mind up about it yet. Personally, I grokked C and C++ fine but Haskell I haven't looked very hard into yet.
EDIT: Hmm there is a lot of cool shit being added to C++11, I'm reading the wikipedia page. Oooh shitloads of random number distributions, oooh 'function pointers', oooh metaprogramming, Ooh **** yes regexes. And it goes on. It is actually a pretty big jump: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%2B%2B11Patashu makes Chiptunes in Famitracker:
