    Covenant (Rough WIP)

    I was just messing around with the amps in Guitar Rig and decided to make a little something out of it. (Yes I know that e-guitar doesn't sound real.)

    I'm also having trouble mastering that bass...

      I loved that choir sounding pad and your snares. Those snares have some serious punch.

      Do you have anything special that you do to your snares to give them that punch? Aside from layering / EQ. They sound fantastic, haha.

          That's just 1 snare



          I put an EQ on the snare channel and then I find where the snare "hits" the hardest (where the bass frequency of the snare is the most present) and I boost it. This makes the snare punch way harder. I also sidechain all of my basses to the snare so nothing plays when the punchy part of the snare hits.

                  ^ pick punchy snare/clap, emphasize 200hz and 500 hz depending on sound you're going for

                      Ah, so it's the sidechain that's got it popping.

                      I noticed you had a bit of a "wind-up" to your snares, but didn't realize you had your kicks sidechained to it. That makes more sense. Thanks for sharing!
