    Looper

My mom wanted to go see this movie, and I couldn't resist free movie entrance.

It's a thrill ride. Hands down. Definitely worth watching. It's action-packed, the acting is great, there is a good amount of blood and gore, it's pretty vulgar, there are certainly thought-provoking aspects to it, the dealing with fate and changing fate. All of these traits are captured in one, just shy of two hour film. I highly recommend it. And if those aren't enough to make you want to see it, the actress on Covert Affairs, Piper Perabo, has a topless scene.

    Thoughts?

Yea, I love the realistic stance they take on time travel. It's kinda like the way District 9 takes a realistic look at aliens landing on our planet. Loved the movie.

Didn't live up to expectations for me. Way too much time spent on the farm plus a very predictable ending. After (spoiler) Paul Dano bit the dust, the movie started slowly going downhill.

I actually saw Looper last night, and thought it was fantastic.

I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt but I'm not the biggest fan of Bruce Willis, he made it work though.

Also, their take on telekinesis made me crack up for a good 3 minutes.

Am I the only one that didn't like this movie?

Maybe I'm just too much of a hardass but I feel like *every single time travel movie* ****s up in some major way and leaves huge plot holes and inconsistencies behind. I hold time travel literature to a higher standard because if you're going to take the time to craft it, it needs to be self-consistent in its rules or it loses its integrity as a narrative device.

          Spoilers:

I did like the scene where the Rainmaker, well, makes it rain. Figured it out early though since the whole TK thing was a massive Chekhov's Gun. They wouldn't introduce such a random thing like that unless it had some purpose beyond just floating coins. Showing that the mother had TK was a dead giveaway, too.

I still found the movie entertaining (up until the last fifth of the movie or so), but was annoyed at the time travel mechanics a bit. I liked the idea, though, of past-version injuries impacting the future-version of the body. That one dude who kept falling apart because they were torturing his old self = damn!

I loved the movie, but hated the ending.
            It was so anti-climactic.

The entire time I was just thinking "Ok when do we see the Rainmaker in the future???" and the movie just cut off so suddenly.

Also did the kid really sleep in the house that he obliterated an hour ago and sprayed blood everywhere in?

It's fun reading the different theories about what the ending means though.

The ending doesn't mean anything. What's there to debate about it? Pretty straightforward IMO

You would be surprised what I've heard. Stuff as crazy as the kid is Joe in another timeline.
