    Unknown Facts of FFR's past

Not sure if this has been done before, but I figured we could do it again if so.

What are some things that happened in the past relating to FFR that not that many people remember? In other words, what are things that happened so fast that there is no record of its occurrence? These can be things relating to the community in general or something you personally did or said that is funny now. Try to avoid things that pretty much everyone knows (i.e. there used to be average misses... I think that is pretty well known at this point). For example, here are some examples of some strange/interesting things I remember happening:

--Dendrite v2 was originally set to be released (and maybe even was released briefly) as a 10 (VC in the old days). Shashikiro played the file once and proceeded to post "those rolls are MURDER, that is definitely an 11".

--When Counter Clockwise Chant Pattern came out, it was described as a "Mega FGO" by Tass. I proceeded to proclaim the song would never be AAA'd (granted I sucked back then so it really did seem impossible at the time). Now it has 5 AAAs. Silly me.

--When {Midnight} was released as a skill token for getting 3 goods or less on {Rose}, there was a lot of backlash about the requirement being stupidly difficult. Basically, the community wasn't nearly as good on the whole so people were pretty pissed about it since Midnight is/was a cool song. It's hard to imagine now given how many people have the token.

--The first day ONI was released, someone (I can't remember who) "AAA'd" (i.e. one good because of the 2 framer) Hellbeat but didn't receive the token because it wasn't coded right. I guess I found this cool because of how hard that song used to be to "AAA". I wish I could remember who it was.

I recall Silence and Balloon Fever not only being FMOs but also Oni unlocks. I believe I obtained it via Silence way back when.

When Colt.45 "AAA'd" (i.e. 7-0-0-2 or something near that) Nova Pulser.

The controversy behind that score back when avmisses were problems is definitely a historical point to remember in FFR. This is going to be a nostalgia, melt to the core, thread. I can feel it.

"Blader Jayne" was the person who created the character drawings ingame (those anime looking characters you can select) even though I have no idea who the hell that is, even JasonKey doesn't remember

FFR Special Mix had its own button on the old 2003 engine

The "missing" levels that don't show up on the song list page.

FFR used to only display the top 25 scores on the level ranks for a song.

FFR used to only have 1 perfect frame, but this was way back in the ancient times.

Arch0wl was an administrator at one point. So was 87x.

FFR had an audio submissions forum before a forum was created for FFR files.

There used to be a Posting Million Squad (PMS) section in the forums as well but it got removed.

                I remember that.

Before late 2005, the only way you could get a song/simfile into FFR was if an administrator contacted you and asked you to make a file for them. And they chose the song. My simfiles Thinking Different and Start Something were chosen by FFR admins for me to step.

Arch0wl also basically had Tass' job in 2004. But the site was MUCH smaller back then and required very little from him

Playing Secret songs that you didn't have enough credits for by clicking once on a song and then going to the next page was pretty neat.

Example: Clicking on Secret Zombie Room on page 1, switching to page 2, then clicking on the corresponding circle that housed SZR on the previous page would let you play whatever song was there on page 2.

The ol' "home" key and then you punched in a secret code that brought up a secret song. I remember that...

                        - In an old version of FFR when DDR songs were available, MAX 300 was being considered to be added in the game, but it never happened.
                        - Caprice, Revolutionary Etude, and Molto Vivace were charts produced from a personal little contest between Hyrogashi, Arch0wl, and Reach on who could make the hardest classical file. To this day, all three files are still huge dickwads.

Back when the Gambling Hall was around, if you clicked the "Place Bet" button rapidly you would essentially place multiple bets per credit charge. I found this out and ultimately had my credits lowered because of this "glitch". There was then a wait time of a couple seconds between placing bets so the system had time to register each individual bet.

But that didn't stop everything. If you had FFR open on 2 (or more) computers, logged into the same account, you could simultaneously click the "Place Bet" button and get two bets for the price of one. Because these bets happened simultaneously, these bets still fooled the system. This along with the downtime of FFR ultimately led to the demise of the Gambling Hall.

Banning tsutter was the very first domino to fall in splitting up the community and may have been the start of the downfall of Stepmania.

After that happened, we all split off to ODI or FFya or some of us went to RF when that was up. Stepmania had an explosion of activity at that time but started dying down in 2008, in my opinion, because the communities were too segregated at that point
