Da song:
I finally got off my fat lazy ass and worked on a few song. This one utilized the VRC6 Konami expansion chip, which gave me 8 channels to dick around with unlike my previous songs which just used five. This song is *progressive* - I threw in a crapton of odd time signatures in all sorts of different places, and nearly all of them worked out very well in the context of the song. Off the top of my head, these are some of the more major ones used (though it isn't a complete list):
7/8 (the intro)
7/4 (mostly used in conjunction with 4/4, used in numerous parts of the song)
6/4 - used in the intense parts during the second half of the song - the triangle begins in 6/4 with the square in 4/4, then both go to 6/4.
17/8 - Used in a few transitions
I use FamiTracker to make these songs - you can download it here if you wanna give chiptune making a shot: famitracker.com
EDIT: If you want to download the .mp3, here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/?ucu1f92wq8kc1bt
