    My Short Film

Literally randomly decided to shoot a short film.

I highly recommend watching this in 1080p

    Story: (Watch first)
Opening scene is of my cabin and I walk out to begin what seems like a very long journey through the woods. Finally I get to my destination, an outhouse. Hur hur. The last few shots are of me walking out of my outhouse and the 15 feet back to my cabin, which you were supposed to think was really far away.

            1. I've never made a short film before.

            2. It was my friend holding my GoPro, our budget was $0 so we didn't really have anything to steady it, and iMovies steadier sucks.

            3. Um, thanks. I think...

Yeah try using a tripod (for stability), and frame your shots better. [+ rule of thirds]
When using POV filming also focus on stability again, it's rather wonky atm.
The locale you picked is amazing though and with a bit more practice you guys can get some really nice scenes.
Also some slow pans across the scenery would be really cool.

Very nice job for your first try, though! Keep the short films coming.

If a Tripod is not readily available either:

                1. Don't shoot.
                2. Use something else to stabilize the shot. Usually using a rock to aim the camera or something can be effective for things like this.

get long string. tie a rock or something to one end and the other end tie to camera. step on the rock or whatever it is that you tied to the end of the string while holding the camera. bam cheap stabilizer

Yeah if you can't get access to a tripod (or even a monopod, if you can get your hands on one; those allow for some pretty great shots), you've got to improvise. I see a lot of rocks around that could work; low-hanging branches, if they're thick enough, could work as well (will be hard to do panning, though.)

The locale was beautiful, though, so once you can get the shots less Cloverfielded it should look even better. Nice job

                      Yo bro.

This was pretty entertaining in terms of seeing what you and your friend came up with for shots and stuff. I enjoyed it. Tripod would be mad helpful though as everyone else is saying.

I want to chat with you. Check your pm's

We had very minimal time to shoot all of this (less than half a day), so we were just trying to get the important shots out of the way.

Our next film will be much better planned out, and will definitely fix the shakiness. Also, I edited this with iMovie, and the next one will be done with Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects so it should be much smoother.

                        Thanks for all the feedback!

Dude I had no idea you were from Colorado! I have lived in Colorado since high-school haha.

Even thought this is your frist video, I must say you have some amazing potential. Seriously. Yes you have lots of work to do, but I think you know what needs to be done. Keep posting what you do, I would love to see it. Thanks
