I find it to be the best of the series because of the engaging storyline, the added mini-games and challenges in each level (although some are irritable), being able to unlock new abilities to progress further into the game, bosses aren't complete pushovers like they were in Spyro 1, etc.

Spyro 1 is really great as a simple platformer though, not to mention the level design in the first game is dabes. (mm)

Metal Gear Solid.
The Namco Museum stuff, I think there were like 5 or 6 of them, are alright if you like older arcade stuff (Pac-Man, Galaga, Druaga, etc)
ReBoot had a game.
Gauntlet.

Contrary to Alex, I found Spyro 2 the worst of the original three (but still lightyears better than any more recent installment of Spyro); Year of the Dragon is by far my favourite, but I dumped a LOT of time into the first one as a child so it's hella nostalgic for me.

I haven't seen anybody mention Crash Bash yet -- an infuriatingly fun game and platinum relics are still the bane of my existence.

probably a bit of rose-tinted glasses going on for me, but I'd recommend Spider-Man. sure feels like it has been a long time since activision's cash grabs had soul behind them. ...oh wait, it has been a long time.

Really? I swear I played it on ps1 as I don't actually have it on ps2 @_@

Was that Spider-Man game for ps1 where you could unlock all of the various costumes? And you had like that web cocoon shield move, and web knuckles that did more damage. That game was awesome! I always just ran around as Spiderman 2099 or Symbiot

I had very fond memories of some PS1 racing games, such as Chocobo Racing and especially Crash Team Racing. Holy cow were racing games fun back then - and none of it involved Mario.

There were some pretty hardcore platforming games that involved a lot of pixel-perfect jumping and timing. Try out Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, Frogger (an updated PS1 adaptation), and the very original Crash Bandicoot game for some memorable platforming.

In addition to Frogger, there were also a number of other adapted classic games that were surprisingly addicting, including Pong and Q*bert, all for the PS1.

And then you should also try Crash Bash for a fun party genre game.

Does anyone remember the 3D pac-man games and the names for them, I think there was 2 individual games for it but I could be mistaken.

The 3D game included unlockables to play the 2d pacman version in-game iirc. I remember the 3d game being hard as hell to get 100% on.

I also remember my favorite level being somewhat related to pirates & cannons if that helps jog any memories.

Pac Man World 20th anniversary. Best Pac Man.

I personally found Spyro 3 the worst in the original series, but it was definitely still fun because of the massive content.

There was still a reasoning behind it. I wasn't only being a jackass here: I buy games that I like. These were most of the games I think you could affordably find interesting, since I managed to find them myself.

I will take a look at star ocean since gold stinger and gundam make it seem like it's worth playing.
@bmah, I have the first croc. I love the game a lot but couldn't compare it too croc 2.
@eric, I honestly thought twisted metal 3 was the best.

Seems like crash team racing is a favorite for a lot of you guys.

Okay, but I don't even recognize some of those games; however, I did manage to buy beyblade since it was on your list.
