Single releases are fine and can always be posted anytime, but if packs are limited, those few active packs at the time will get more submissions and be completed quicker so everyone can move onto the next pack.

I just have a... unique perspective/view on music... (However, I have a unique view on everything...) Let me try to explain my thinking a bit...

Back in the old days, you had to use real instruments to create music. At that time, while it was not a new concept, it was becoming popular at that time. Having something 'new' people tend to get... extremely creative. A perfect example is all the inventions we had back then. Now that technology has advanced, we have had music for so long, music tends to ...blend with other songs/music... I had this discussion in school before... Not going into it... The point being is, you can only do something so much/new... Therefore... (This may be the confusion comes in because this is my opinion that I feel is true but not exactly...) You tend to not have anything creative/new in music. Sure, it's impossible to not repeat something/reuse something else. This would cause a lot of people to use old songs but with just new steps. So, with the lack of something creative/new, this tends to cause the questions... "What song should I use? This has already been stepped before... or, this song reminds me of... <X>. I don't want to step this..." While this is not true; to me, it feels like it is...

I hope this explains a bit... It's probably just going to confuse you even more...

a pack is only as active as the person who runs it, updates it regularly, and promotes it (to a certain degree).

if you fall short of doing any of the above, it's no wonder so many packs are never finished. for every pack I've done, I've never had to ask for submissions, they come in right through the door because I do all of the aforementioned.

if you don't care about your own pack, why should anyone else?

there is a huge promotion aspect involved with packs that everyone neglects to talk about explicitly

I've released packs that pretty much no one plays because I've promoted them zilch

note: videos count as a form of promotion, as do posting scores

Please keep it on topic, if Snapps are busy with IRL stuff and whatnot there isn't much to do other than wait to see if he appears again and post an update or let this thread die. No place to discuss musical taste, please do that somewhere else.


@ Rebirth it's hard to approve/disapprove pack ideas because from what I've seen it's almost impossible from a glance to see if packs will fail or succeed.

Take IcyWorld's Nuclear Blast packs as an example, IcyWorld didn't really have any name back in the day, he just basically made the two first packs almost completely by himself and afaik he didn't even make submission threads for them, then he made 3 and 4 and now they're one of the most played packs of all, including outside our english community.

Then there's kommisar's Xoon 6 which kinda died, even though the previous Xoon packs were really popular and kommisar is known in more or less all communities the pack project kinda died and kommisar sent all the files to either ODI3 or FFR Community 4, don't remember.

So yeah, approving or disapproving will be kinda unfair I think. One small idea could become something big.
