So the registrar emailed me again today. Seems that I'll be getting a stipend for food, so I can go grocery shopping, play it frugal, and pocket the rest of the money. That's almost verbatim lol.
So we're out on a smoke break, and someone asks me how to pronounce my last name (we're wearing badges with first and last name on them). I say "choofy," and this other dude responds like this:
"Oh, this might be weird, but are you Choofers?"
Turns out that he was also doing research on the program a couple days ago, and found this post. It's the fifth result on google if you search for "acuitus office of the registar," lmao.
Hahaha, that's actually pretty funny. I had one instance of people apparently randomly already knowing me without knowing they did... though I'd have preferred if that hadn't happened :P

I don't know if that's funny or really awkward. I think you'd better change your username.
I think it's hilarious. A ton of people in this class have been doing some searching, basically everyone was skeptical as fuck until we actually sat down at the computers yesterday morning (this is the coolest program I've ever seen).
And it's not like my name/nickname is common, at all. There are double digit "cuiffi"s in America.
edit: we have 5-man study groups and we're in the same one, which is awesome because he's nerdy as hell
