I've got a few ideas for some simfiles. Time to dust off the Stepmanias and make some Tsuka files.

regarding measure 22&23 i remember it being like 3-4 minijacks in those measures where the last one didn't go to the same sound as the previous ones and didn't sound like a minijack
that was probably the consistency error i mentioned, i did the same pattern to the wrong notes lol. fixed that

the color note madess in m24 i can assure you is superwrong :P
no matter what speed i listen to it on it sounds and looks right :/ it'd help me out a bunch if you could show me how you would step that part

i don't understand what you're saying about m11 but the drums were definitely 24ths and not late 32nds like in the file
i originally had 4 notes for those drums, going 8th-32nd-16th-32nd leading into the next measure. that was really dumb to hit so i removed the 16th, sacrificing some technicality for flow.

more stuff about my file, sorry for being so particular but i want to make sure this stuff is actually incorrect before i change it

I don't think zagh/ducky have the patience to make simfiles anymore. I can bring it up next time i talk to him though.

lol chris, i'm taking it seriously because i feel there's a balance here that can and needs to be achieved. also i don't use ddream to step every sound (like you accuse ddream users of doing) but it is rather handy for confirming my accuracy

Responses for Howling. Thanks for the compliments though, that really made my day!

                          1) measure 2 missing 16th
                          2) measure 16-17 if you're following that new keyboard that comes in here there are a lot of 16ths missing, and if you're following the same one as in the previous sections, then there also are notes missing.
                          3) measure 28-36 this part is monstrously cool
                          4) measyre 36-42 this part is also awesome but i think you should lose the mines, the part is hard enough to MA as it is, with all the minigallops it gets a bit confusing and annoying with the mines i think. but the mine usage is great throughout the rest of the file.
                          5) measure 45 i don't like them being minifreezes, i think being trips is enough. it's a bit tricky to hit this properly and the minifreezes mess up the reading a bit i think
                          6) measure 50 missing 16ths
                          7) measure 52 the patterns aren't following the melody here
                          8) measure 53 you could of course have small gallops here instead of the mines, but it's fine
                          9) measure 60 missing 16th between the two last 3-16ths
                          10) measure 66&67. the 4ths where both the bassdrum and vocals hit should be a trip, i know it will create a minijack in a couple of spots but i think that's fine
other than that the ending stream is awesome
                          1) don't hear it
                          2) Dunno about a lot, but I have indeed found missing 16ths (and also in similar sections in other parts of the song), so I've added those.
                          3) thanks so much!
                          4) Those aren't supposed to be minigallops but rather color theory where I add white (well, green on SM) arrows to the funny vocal clips, while at the same time layering in the guitar. Just hit intersecting white arrows as jumps. I'll be leaving the mines in because they're not that unreasonable (i.e. they always occur on one arrow column at predictable times - the hi-hat cymbals).
                          5) Fair enough, I removed the freezes.
                          6) Same as 2), added what I believe was missing.
                          7) ???
                          8) Actually I removed the mines now and added the gallops; you'll see.
                          9) Oh wow I didn't spot this, thanks.
                          10) Hmm, I think I'm gonna leave it as is, since it's pretty busy already.

I think this will be my final version for this song and I'll send it shortly.

Will still have to fix Aegis to some degree, although I don't necessarily agree with all of the notes for that song.

                            quick thoughts/responses
-my style of layering depends heavily on 1) keysounding and 2) jack theory, so I'm guessing that's where a lot of the confusion re: 13-36 came from. I'll do my best to clarify here:

13-20: jumps are all to bass drum or very strong hits. I tried accentuating those whooshy vacuum sounds with minifreezes, but it felt off, so I opted for mines instead. as for the jacks that aren't really jacks, they're meant to emphasize how the synth melody is following a little gallop rhythm. same goes for the little minijacks in 20: I tried layering the jumps in with and without jacks, and it actually feels more smoother with the jacks (at least that's how I feel).

21-28: the counterpoint melody in the background going x.x..x.. (assume each x or . represents a 16th and that this pattern loops every two beats) is marked with minijacks. when it shifts to a different pitch (which is once every two measures), there's two minijacks, one leading into the jump on the downbeat and one immediately following it. that's just the general principle and due to pattern variation I had to break it a few times, but that's basically how this section works.

29-36: very similar to 29-36. those longer freezes that lead right into the next note accent each time there's a gap in the main melody.

it seems like this entire section is problematic for you, so I'm not quite sure how I should touch it up. maybe the best solution would be to create a different chart w/o all of the jacky stuff (and a toned-down ending) and have two charts. but it's your call.

EDIT: yeah, I can definitely see how this might have been way too intense for the song. I'll see if I can rearrange the patterns here.

fixed everything in 51-52, and I'll go back to the ending and mess with the patterns a little later.
this got bottom-paged, just making sure you see it GLoVE

it's good that you are particular about it! this is the kind of dialogue i'm looking for regarding the files i give feedback on. i'm going to sleep right now but i will look at the section with the 24ths tomorrow and i will look at the jack-theory in the end as well :P. if you don't think there are errors in measure 12 and 15 it's not a big deal, i remember measure 15 only being about a single arrow so that obviously isn't too important, i think measure 12 was the drums starting too late and that it was pretty obvious :S, and can we agree on the drums in measure11 being 24ths?
