Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 1
(D1) Lunar Landing - I'll be honest; this was slightly harder than what I expected for D1's first song xD
Nice little file here; pretty expressive for how simple it is.
(D2) Death March - Ah Silvie, Silvie, cranking out so many good files so fast haha. Straightforward and fun, though I can see some of those jumps and hands giving our D2 players trouble.
(D3) Infinity - Now this was exciting. Short and sweet with a nice swingy rhythm. I'm looking forward to more of your awesome files Brandon ;3
(D4) Addict (Dr. Ozi Monsta r3mix) - Cool song choice here. Not much else to say.
(D5) EuroMorroc (Clean Edit) - Another good song. Not sure if this one's my type of file, but it should give people in D5 a good run for their money... >:3
(D6) Spoils - I groaned when I first saw the length, but this was a fine chart. Felt that a couple of sections were fairly tough difficulty bursts, but yeah. As for the song, I'm sure there are many people who like it more than I do xD
This week's songs weren't *too* memorable, but they were still well-stepped. Looking forward to Round 2!
Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 1
I like Death March as a song. Not going to lie, I've never really played songs with hands before, so I guess I'm going to be a sad puppy when I can't AAA it.

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 1
The other division charts I'm not playing until I get eliminated (which I know I will). My division's chart (Infinity) I personally found the patterns to be really annoying and this might be the song that gets me eliminated no matter how much I try.
Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 1
Death March: As is common with early D2 songs, this song contains many hands and even a quad. The string of jumps and hands at the end is far harder than the rest of the file, and is likely where most of the D2 players will have the most trouble AAA'ing. Also, since one-handed players are in a greater abundance in the lower divisions such as D2, those players may have additional trouble with especially the ending section of the song. The 24th bursts with jumps may also trip some players up. Definitely harder than Keep on Driving from last year. (Although since this is still Round 1, I wouldn't be surprised to see a number of AAA's.)

Addict, file-wise, surprised me a bit with that beginning trill, polyrhythms, and mini jacks at the end, pretty aggressive D4 chart for Round 1 imo, haha.
^
Addict is the only one I've played thus far, I love the chart, but yea what Luis said. I don't think it should have been an opener.

Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 1
Just played all of the charts.
Lunar Landing - very fitting opening song for division 1. Stresses a few skills involving repeated taps and usage of 16ths, a great first round in my opinion.
Death March - this to me, is a really harsh first round. Throwing a high amount of triples like this seems a bit extreme for lower end D2 players who might not have found their confidence on spread. The chart itself is great; extremely well done, proper PR, great sync, all of which you can expect from Silvuh. I just don't think this should have been used in this particular spot.
Infinity - great chart, great placement. A little tricky to start with, but certainly nothing unmanageable for even lower D3 players to learn.
Addict - I've already said it before but I'll mention it again - AWESOME chart by Carlos, but waaaaaay too hard for the opener. This file took me more tries to AAA than my own tournament song (Spoils took me one restart, Addict took me six). It's a good D4 file, but I'm sure things could have been shifted around a bit more to put this a round later (at the least).
Euromorroc - this opener is also pretty harsh too - it requires a good understanding of jumpstreaming (and how not to split it when handling multiple jumps per beat). Certainly not out of D5's range of play, but definitely aggressive.
Spoils - also a fair bit harder than I expected, but the chart itself is really well done.
Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 1
Glad most of you like Spoils, although I kinda feel bad for D6 people because I don't really put much consideration into whether or not my files will be enjoyable to whore for a AAA. It's a really fun chart when you're not worrying about score lol
Re: FFR 7th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 1
Anyone interested in knowing what percentage of people have played/AAA'd day by day for each round? I made an Excel sheet cause I'm a nerd. For example as of now:
Division 1
Date AAA % Played %
7/8/2012 23 9% 65 26%
Division 2
Date AAA % Played %
7/8/2012 6 4% 64 45%
Division 3
Date AAA % Played %
7/8/2012 20 24% 50 61%
