Just out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed that most people give an exaggerated height, generally their height while wearing shoes (at least guys do anyway).

I know I've encountered many people claiming to be 6'1" who I am a clean 3+" taller than, and I ended up finding out that they actually tell people their height while wearing shoes to try and sound taller. People usually guess that I am at least 6'3" just because the majority of the time that they see me I am wearing shoes.

Shoes do make a pretty big difference, while I am wearing shoes I even out in height with my dad who is actually 2 inches taller than me.

Also, another exaggeration story, one of my 6'8" uncles played basketball in college as the center, the roster of an opponent once listed their center as 6'10", and he got on the court and was actually taller than the guy.

Just an interesting idea for this topic while this conversation is going on anyway, does anyone have any interesting stories of people claiming to be heights that they clearly are not? And what do you do about it? I just usually let them keep on thinking what they want haha
