rofl I have played the other FF on PSX. They were terrible. The only reason people really like them is because it was their first 3D RPG and things like that.
Similar reason for everyone liking the original Super Mario Bros. The gameplay in SMB is terrible. The level design is ok, but the controls are terrible. It wasn't until SMB3 that the controls got more polished, but everyone still loves SMB.
