There are 3 sides, no? I think if we're all gonna play, we should try to all be on the same team and meet up so we can kick ass together.
Omega, as somebody who has played BF2 and loved it, would you say that somebody who loves BF2 (and other FPS games that have more to do than just killing) would really like Planetside? It seems like something I would like.
On that note, I'ma try playing as soon as I'm out of the shower. Hopefully it's ready by then. =)
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
If you're wanting to stay on the same side/server, I can help.
I play on the NC empire, on the Emerald server. My in-game name is Jonathan7
I'm in an outfit called Legend, and I can invite you all into it. The outfit is pretty inactive at the moment, so I'm sure nobody will have a problem with me inviting you.
If you're in-game on an NC Emerald character, do the following:
Type "/who Jonathan7"
- If it says "no matches," then I'm not on.
- If it says something like "1. Jonathan7, NC <location>," then send me a tell by typing "/tell Jonathan7 Hey, I'm from FFR and need an invite to Legend," or something like that.
You can also add me to your friend list by pressing P and clicking the friends tab and entering my name.
In Emerald, also as an NC character. IGN is ebFFR (I'm so creative). Going through the training. o____O

Omg ;_; Whenever I go to download it gets stuck on some map file. I first did a normal download and then a "full scan", and both times it got stuck on the same file...
I hooked up with Jonathan7, and it RULED. He gave me TONS of pointers that only a veteran could tell me, and with his help, I got to level 5! =D
What does this mean? It means that now I have a JACKHAMMER, the super-mega shotgun! I haven't gotten to try it out yet, but my days of never getting kills are over.
Got it working this morning. I think it was ActiveX being disabled that made it not download.
Well anyway my videocard blows and whenever I go to areas with a whole bunch of people fighting everything lags out and it's impossible to play. I only got into one fight that I could actually play, but my guns suck and I didn't get a single kill ;_;
Anyway I'm going to get a new video card this week. I'll go for anything under $35. It just has to be something with 128MB and basic things required for most modern graphically intensive games like alpha-blending and pixel shader 1.1. Any suggestions? I'm going for this:
Yea i was just flying around in a masquito.. just flying around and i ran into an enemy transport plane(forgot what theyre called) and owned it, there were like 10 people in there and i got br 5 =D
Destroying any kind of flying vehicle will get you tons of XP, especially the larger ones.
And, regarding the computer issues...You might also want to look into getting more RAM. Planetside is very memory-intensive, and it's very hard to play with anything less than 1gb (512 barely works, and 256 is a joke). A new video card will help to some extent, though. I'm not sure how much a $30.00 video card will help, though, but it's worth a try.
For some reason, when I play PS, most things flicker. Even in small areas like the training zones (for the record, it's the only place I've been, so I dunno if it's worse in actual gameplay). Basically, it's like the game craps out in drawing the polygons for half the frames, so like, a wall of a building of the entire ground will go in and out and flicker. It's still just as playable, and it might even help me sometimes (maybe a wall will disappear and I'll see people inside? XD), but it is awfully annoying. I turned my graphics all the way down to see if it would help, but things still flicker a ton.
My computer is fine though. I mean, I can run BF2, and that makes some brand new computers explode, and PS is like...way older. *shrug* I don't really care much, I just may have a seizure if things keep flashing like they do. @__@

Is this what you're talking about? If so, then it has to do with your video card drivers.
I've never had to deal with this problem, so I can't help you very much. The best way to find out what you need to do is to search through the threads in tech support.
