I didn't actually like Scott Pilgrim that much. Maybe I'm missing something since I was distracted when I watched it, but it fell flat for me.

only two movies (social network and waiting for superman) were definitively great this year

scott pilgrim got a spot on my list pretty much because of how much i enjoyed the beginning

as with many comedies (see: kickass (though scott pilgrim was better)), the movie was funniest/best when it was sort of wandering around between plots/characters in the beginning--as it went on, it never got bad or mediocre but it just sort of flatlined to "good". still, pretty great movie overall.

Tie between A Tale of Two Sisters, Millennium Actress, and The Fall. A Tale of Two Sisters is horror done right (such a shame that the American remake missed the point by a mile), Millennium Actress is brilliantly complex and touching (despite being animu, hurhur), and The Fall is GORGEOUS, with only a few bad actors holding it back.
