Yet another relative unknown in the breakcore scene, and this one is really sad, because this guy is truly amazing. His music is so, so good, yet not many people have really heard of him. Well, here's a link to a song of his that's on youtube, the title track of the album.

It's time to flex my diversity.

Battles is an interesting experimental prog/math rock group. Some might know their work previously from LittleBigPlanet (Atlas) or from Twilight: Eclipse (The Line). They have an interesting sort of sound and often make the music theory nerd inside me happy when listening to their work on Mirrored, especially on stuff like Snare Hanger.

Honeyhoney is an American folk/bluegrass band, with wonderful female vocals and generally good lyrics that have a heavy country influence. Little Toy Gun is one of their most popular songs, but does not adhere to the band's typically slow pace, where they really shine (not that Little Toy Gun is bad by any stretch of the imagination), especially in songs like Slow Brains and Sugarcane.

The World/Inferno Friendship Society is swing punk. I don't mean like the generic uninformed description of ska-punk by this, but the fact that they maintain a swing/big band type of feel while maintaining a punk sound. To further drive this point home, there is typically swing dancing done at their shows. The nostalgic feel combined with modern lyrics/semi-modern sound create quite the awesome experience. Good examples of what this band is about include Only Anarchists Are Pretty and Zen and the Art of Breaking Everything in the Room.

Clark - Turning Dragon (2008)

If you've ever wanted a grungy-yet-danceable album, this is what you're looking for. Deep kicks and rough atmospheres abound. Ultimately, the album sounds like... well, exactly what you'd expect from something with this cover.

This video has the first two tracks of the album, New Year Storm and Volcan Veins. New Year Storm is a perfect opener for the album, plunging you into the underworld the album creates. Volcan Veins starts at about 4:07, and is a lot more beat-oriented.

This is a track somewhere in the middle of the album. It begins with what sounds like cold winds blowing through an abandoned subway tunnel, but at about 1:09, it suddenly jumps back to the grungy club sound that defines the album.

Rustie - Sunburst EP

I have no idea what "purple" is. I hear it's some kind of a mix between dubstep and hip-hop. At any rate, this release is only 5 songs long, and overall is no longer than 15 minutes, and yet there's a stunning amount of variety. It starts with "Neko", a track filled with epic synths and percussion. From there we go on to this track right here:

Suddenly we're listening to something a lot more chaotic. This sticks more to the dubstep side of things, with a fluttering bass and chocked full of micro-samples of... someone. A pitched up female RnB singer? I'm not sure.

Here the bass sounds a lot more like it would fit in with a Ludacris song perfectly. This has a bit more soul in it, especially during the second... I guess you could call it a "verse", with the synth choir and bell samples. When the lead comes in, you'll know pretty damn well why this is called "Hyperthrust". (Video courtesy of someone who decided to play around with Planes, Trains and Automobiles. It works pretty well with the song.)

Talking about breakcore, you guys who listen to breaks should check The Ghost Of 3.13, Mochipet (although Wang is kinda known in the scene) and Distimia. They're good artists, specially Mochipet.

Hardcore punk essentially. Has some screaming, however not enough to classify it as a 'screamo' band. But what sets this apart from every other hardcore band is that it's ****ing carnival themed. Thus leading to some of the most beautiful instrumentals and mood setting I have ever heard. Feels like you're on a ****ing gondola in Venice.
