dimmu borgir - in sorte diaboli - was way better than i thought it would be, i actually like this album quite a bit. black metal/symphonic metal or something like that lol
horse the band - a natural death - lmao. pretty good though. nintendocore!!!
pain of salvation - scarsick - pretty ****ing good, i havn't listened that much to pain of salvation but from what i've heard, this is their best album imo. (this was released in january but whatever lol). prog rock/prog metal
from autumn to ashes - holding a wolf by the ears - my favorite album with these guys. metalcore
evergrey - monday morning apocalypse - awesome. prog metal
dark tranquillity - fiction - also pretty awesome but damage done was a lot better XD. melodic death metal
the devin townsend band - ziltoid the omniscient - weird band but this album is really good. prog metalish
Awesome, new Opeth album. Will look forward to that one.
Riverside are also releasing their third album this year. They are one of the best new bands I've heard in the 00's.
EDIT: Just noticed you say this on the last page:
pain of salvation - scarsick - pretty ****ing good, i havn't listened that much to pain of salvation but from what i've heard, this is their best album imo. (this was released in january but whatever lol). prog rock/prog metal
hahahahaHAHAHAHAHA. Shut the **** up man. This is their worst album that they've ever released. Oh, and:

1 - Pain of Salvation - 674 listens
I've listened to them hundreds of times before I got last.fm too. I also happen to own every single album they've released. They are my favourite band.
Scarsick is horrible for them.
Hell, before I go into it myself, ProgArchives (the biggest prog site), has ratings for tons of albums. This tells the story better than I could:
Entropia 1997 4.31/5
Excellent addition to any prog music collection
(68 ratings) Studio Album
One Hour By The Concrete Lake 1999 4.32/5
Excellent addition to any prog music collection
(60 ratings) Studio Album
The Perfect Element Part 1 2001 4.37/5
Excellent addition to any prog music collection
(167 ratings) Studio Album
Remedy Lane 2002 4.30/5
Excellent addition to any prog music collection
(147 ratings) Studio Album
12:5 2004 4.45/5
Excellent addition to any prog music collection
(74 ratings) Live
Be 2004 4.18/5
Excellent addition to any prog music collection
(147 ratings) Studio Album
Scarsick 2007 3.41/5 Good, but non-essential
(106 ratings) Studio Album
Every single album of theirs has at least 4/5 from tons of ratings by people, apart from Scarsick. Only album to currently have <4/5.
I would agree too. Every single album up to Scarsick had an awesome concept, until Scarsick which is gay cliche "America sucks" Green Day style drivel. Why is Daniel Gildenlow now cursing so much, he never had to before. Why is he rapping. Why are there dance style parts, what happened to the prog, the funk, the emotion. The album is a ****load more commercial, and although bands like Porcupine Tree managed to pull this off and still sound decent, PoS managed to ruin their entire sound.
Seriously, check out "Remedy Lane", "Entropia", and "The Perfect Element: Part I". They are the best albums.
Also, 12:5 is one of the best acoustic style live albums you may ever hear in your life. I've probably listened to it about 30-40 times.
EDIT: You've made me want to listen to them now. Listening to TPE: P.I. Still 10x better than Scarsick.
well all i remember is that i had some of their old albums and that i deleted them because they were boring as hell to listen to and pretty weird. tell me what album i should check out then
Coming out in late August, sounds like it's going to be great. Produced by Kanye himself along with Jon Brion, DJ Toomp, Pete Rock and Sa-Ra. I've always loved his music, and even if you don't usually like rap there are probably going to be some tracks on here you will like. The first single, Stronger (http://youtube.com/watch?v=x4ceS2fSXuo), features a sick sample from Daft Punk and is great. Even my mom listened to the whole song without complaining. Definitely buy this album when it drops.
Talib Kweli - Ear Drum
Oh my god. Talib Kweli has always been one of my favorite rappers, this entire album solidifies this. It leaked in early June, and should be out soon. First single Listen!!! (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Iiu3eViGvi8) is great, no surprise coming from Talib. Producers include Kanye West, will.i.am, Kwamé, Mad Lib, Just Blaze and many others. Buy this album if you like UK Hip Hop or Hip Hop in general .
Riverside are also releasing their third album this year. They are one of the best new bands I've heard in the 00's.
Riverside is the most underrated band in existence. It's probably because they're fairly new, but the two albums they have out so far are incredible, and yet almost nobody has heard of them. I'm looking forward to the new one more than any other CD that is coming out or came out this year.
