In terms of actually making sense and developing a coherent story, this episode beat out everything since season 1.
In terms of pure ridiculous entertainment, it was above average.

Coherent story bits:
Yes. Nikki's dead.
People keep going back in time to fix the world, but their screwing with time makes it worse, and we're finally seeing how.
Marlo actually showed some intelligence in finding out who Peter really was.
Claire's mom showed some tough parenting, superhero style.
Noah did some screwing with Sylar's mind to serve his own needs.
THE HAITIAN RETURNS
Ridiculous entertainment bits:
Every Hiro/Ando scene. Made better by the music.
"If I knew you were coming I would've made more!"
"PIKACHU?!" (I know this ties in with Hiro/Ando, but whatever)
Agent Sylar.
Ando pulling some wrestling stuff on the Haitian.
Parkman and the MIX TAPE FROM THE FUTURE.
After re-watching seasons one and two, I came to the conclusion that the writers could not make a story that didn't originate from the future.
Looks like I was right.
Seriously, they need to lose this crutch. It's cool in theory, but it's getting old in practice.
I was hoping episode 3 would be less convoluted from the first two. It was, but that's little hope for the future of this season, really. We got some of the burning questions answered, but more dumbassery and plot holes came along with it, along with hundreds of other questions.
A big theme of the show is the whole "questions" and the ways of how we find the answers to them. I can believe that there are a whole bunch of questions out there that we ask that should have a straight forward answer, but the answer is usually skewed or obscure. I'd like to say that the rest of the season is going to end up sucking based on these first 3 episodes, but being Heroes, it is way too early to make a prediction like that.
In the previews at the end of episode 3, is that Claire flying? Did she find some way to pull a Sylar?

wait why is hiro a dumbass in that episode.
unless you count the alienating ando so bad that it will make him evil anyway.
other than that he wasnt that bad
Heroes is one of those shows where there are just so many twists and turns and random plot devices to the point where it's all just a big, disorganized mess. It's totally useless to really try to make sense of it.
Thus, all you can really do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the show for its face value
And, given that a lot of people are doing this, the writers are reverting back to the time-tested successful formula: Make the season revolve around power-discovery. That *always* gets people into things. Notice why Season 2 blew (besides the writer's strike)... very little discovery to keep people wondering.

Uh, no it isn't. That's almost the entire fun of Heroes. There's so much to think about after the episode is over. It keeps the viewers locked in to the show.
As someone said before, all of those plot holes I pointed out may not actually be plot holes at all. Who knows if the writers intended them? That would only make the show that more interesting.

Boring. Speculating is where it's at.
@Jump: Hi, my name is Hiro Nakamura. I make no reference to not being able to use my abilities to get out of this cell, so I make the viewers assume I have forgotten how to do it again. Instead, to plan my escape, I will make a ton of noise and yell a lot so as to fool the guards into thinking I am sitting quietly.

lol ok i see your point. i was thinking that too. but i figured the haitian was hanging around somewhere close blocking his powers since hes the one who caught them and they know hiro would try to teleport out. Then surprise hes in the room. so i figured correctly as far as i know
Obviously, I assumed that too. How hard would it have been to just add these lines:
Ando: Why aren't you teleporting out?
Hiro: It's still not working for some reason!
Three seconds, done.
The Haitian eventually shows up, but who knows? He could've been out for hours. The people in Level 5 are freely using their abilities all the time, and I assume Level 5 is below Level 2. Don't know how the radius of The Haitian's ability works but I think he can manage that kind of range.
Also, if The Haitian was so nearby that he's blocking Hiro from leaving, you would think he'd hear the banging sooner.
The definition Tsugo and I have makes a lot more sense. Kairouseki. In One Piece, it's a stone with the same properties as the ocean. The ocean nullifies Devil's Fruit powers. If you line a steel cage with Kairouseki, anyone inside will be unable to use their abilities.
