It's really really entertaining, the video is taken from a show thats called something like Takeshi's Castle, I forget.. I HATE the dubbing, it annoys me to no end most of the time, if it was just subtitled I'm sure it would be more entertaining (for me atleast) but its fun to watch nonetheless.

Most Xtreme Elimination Challenge (or MXC) is the American version. they just talk over the voices.

Yeah I know, I was saying that Takeshi's Castle is the show in Japan that actually DOES everything video. I know what MXC is and that Spike dubs over that video, I was just pointing it out. I used to enjoy watching the hour or so of MXC after 2 hours of CSI hehe.

some of the challenges look way too easy and people lose at them. i think that its staged because they arent winning prizes or are they?

Isn't Takeshi's castle (something like that, whatever) really old? Like, 20 years ago old?

The dubbing is a lot of the comedy. Sure it would still be entertaining because of the (insert funny happening here), but I think it's just funnier with all of the jokes that the american version has. For exampe, Guy Le Douche. The skitches with him are almost always hilarious.

The dub can hardly be called that. They just make the people say whatever they want for comedic value.

I can't really think of any of their challenges that would be easy. Theres always the ones that appear easy and everyone says 'Oh yeah I could do that' but then it turns out harder than it appears. A lot of their games have moving platforms, unstable surfaces, in some cases its just pure luck or guessing. I could be wrong but I don't think they lose on purpose.

And MC, apparantly yes its 20 years old (wikipedia'd)--

Original Takeshi's Castle Series
The original show involved about 142 contestants whom General Tani (played by Hayato Tani) effectively tested and challenged, eliminating some and keeping others by putting them through a series of silly yet challenging games. Each show finished with a Final Showdown where Count Takeshi (Takeshi Kitano) was faced by the remaining contestants. If they hit the paper ring on his cart with their water gun and the paper broke (or in later episodes, the laser hit a sensor that deactivated his cart), the castle was taken and the game "won". The player who shot down Takeshi won one million yen.
