Honestly, it wasn't what I was looking for: the main character wanted a low-profile without exerting a lot of effort, but I'm looking for a scenario where someone is extremely bored with life and tries to find something interesting. I really like Hyouka so far though. ^.^

HOW HAS NO ONE SAID CLANNAD YET. HOLY SHIT.

Main character is bored with life to the point of depression pretty much, atop of having a shitty father and shit.

However, you need to watch a 48 episode anime that will make you cry your eyes out.

Eventually he concedes and befriends her. Tomoya learns Nagisa has been held back a year due to a severe illness and that her dream is to revive the school's drama club. Claiming he has nothing better to do, he decides to help her achieve this goal along with the help of four other girls. As Tomoya spends more time with the girls, he learns more about them and their problems. Doki fansubs have been working on it for a couple of months now. They'll probably get a release done in a year or two.
