necros: that looks pretty sexy for a start. the other ones are just really plain looking. :-/. can you add all of the info to your design so that i can see how it all looks together? please put the video job first, although i like the layouts when one job is on the left and the other is on the right, as opposed to on top of each other. also needs to have 2 websites listed, not just 1.

i know it's a lot of text to fit onto the card. meh.

i think this is the very minimum you should consider acceptable for the card, i filled in only to make it look somewhat definitive, but the way i organized stuff makes it versatile enough to change the placement of pretty much everything. just ask and it'll be done.

small ver. for the sake of not stretching etc, im assuming you could see the bigger one as well seeing how geeky you are but the majority of people don't have such big screens.

No need to have the FFR logo on there... no need to have the FFR URL under my name.

is it possible to put one set on the left, with left justification and the other set on the right, with right justification? put my ph# and AIM under my name at the top, then title, email, url for each job on the left and right. i can shrink the FFR title to 23 characters, including spaces.

so it would look like:

If that doesn't work, then I'd list them vertical above each other... but definitely want the info for each job to be together, not grouped like titles together, emails together, etc.

the ph# and AIM can go under my name, since those are universal for both.

few things.

1. business cards are 3.5" wide and 2.0" tall. so, please try and use those dimensions for your templates (or some kind of template that is 1.75:1)

2. i think the avatar just won't work... i like it, but even disregarding the professionalism questions, it has too many colors.

3. gigi: something that has a fit of flair to it, like necros has. it can be anything... just so it isn't so bland looking.

I'm bad at coming up with ideas for designs. I don't how to work templates and whatnot for Photoshop Elements 7, either. So I'm going to keep guessing, I guess.

you only plan on getting like 100-150 right?

i used to work at a print shop and designs like necros would cost 75 dollars for 100 cards that only have 3-4 colors

you are implying that vivid colors are more expensive than undersatured ones yet the difference is very minimal and i think that whoever asks this much is not a professional and isn't using the right machinery.

the difference may be minimal on the computer. but when the cards are being made they use two completely different processes

also the prices come from personal experience. you can probably get them online for a lot cheaper

don't have time to get them done online. has to be done in a shop. likely in a rush capacity. and yeah, i'd be looking for about 100... although i'm pretty sure 500 is not much more expensive than 100, as most of the cost is in the set-up.

what about some kind of border around the outside? black or something? to make it not QUITE so bland looking.

have you gone to any of the print shops around your area to check out the prices or to see if they can design the card for you?the one that i worked at designed the card according to your specifications for free.


if you're willing to pay 50+ for 100 or a little more for 500 then just use necros' design
