                Bumping is posting in an old thread without contributing anything to the discussion, I thought. What he did there, answering a question, would be considered a meaningful contribution IMO, and thus not the sort of bump that's worthy of punishment.

                Still, it's generally considered bad form.

                    Not many people like seeing old threads touched. Neither do I.
                    But if it's the OP doing it, I think it's okay.

                        How about any and all threads that are 6 months or older get auto locked. We wouldn't see this as often.
