What are simfiles for???

and when i play, below it says "Your overall FFR ranking:1"what does this mean?

Second question first -- an overall ranking of 1 means that you're currently unranked. When they do another ranking update if you've scored enough points, it should change to show your actual ranking. (The one exception is the person who is actually ranked 1st, jimerax, I believe it is.)

First question second -- the simfiles should be songs and stepfiles that you can download and use with other games like StepMania and Dance With Intensity. If you have one or more games like that, you can download and install simfiles to add more songs and levels to the game.

Right, I don't consider myself a n00b; I've been here since 2002. But, ya know, I'm not a big forums guy. So, I find myself asking this question:

Hellslayer, I thought my description above basically answered that. They're simulator files, used to play games like this on a DDR simulation program like StepMania or Dance With Intensity. The have the song, step files, and whatever else is needed to play the songs/games on the simulator.

Minymax3, check the FAQ link above and any of the sticky and/or announcement threads in the forums. Chances are they'll have most of the rules you need to know.

i've got a question what are the goods, perfects, averages, boos, misses and combos all worth? or at least where can i find em, i've been searching all over the dam place in the noob forums but i cant find em i read them once before, could somebody tell me where they are

When you press an arrow watch your score on the bottom and see how mutch it changes.

Try this thread -- it's sticky in the general forum. It should have all the information you need. But you will need to have a rank of 150000 or better before it will work. If you have something like 10-20 million total points, the next time the ranks are updated your sig ought to start working.
