obviously some of that post is a little facetious and troll-y (see: the constant swearing) but for reals: i don't reaaaalllly care about the usual dumb jokes that come with a famous person's death; that shit's dumb but whatever

it's just the ****ing arrogance and the haughty elitism, as if all of us who care that someone famous died are mainstream whores, and that you're so much better for sorta-not-really-pretend-caring about the death of people who you see as more "innocent" or whatever, especially when you're going to stop caring about it after it stops being cool. (see: the twelve thousand international social issues that people on the internet mass-cared about for a few days that are still going on, yet nobody cares about them anymore.)

sometimes it can help just to be respectful and say "rip" or whatever instead of using someone's death as a platform for your silly opinions which you'll probably grow out of soon anyways. RIP

It's like people get emotional over different things. This happens every time there is a thread about some semi famous person dying and there is always that one person that gets ridiculously upset over it because they have a tiny bit more personal interest in the matter than everyone else. So stop acting like you are better then everyone else just because this matters to you a little bit more.
