Re: Need to know what to do >_>
I worked in an event planning company for years....selling women their wedding invitations, centerpieces, making their favors, etc. It was literally the worst job I have ever had and probably ever will have. I quit that **** a few months ago and am seriously considering a labor job because I NEVER want to work in retail/sales again. It's just a little harder for females to get labor job. I just don't want to get stuck dealing with those ****ing people ever again. The weight of what I say depends on how you feel.Comment

Re: Need to know what to do >_>
I've done both. Did hard labor for 13 hours a day from 6 am - 7 pm during the summer, working at fast food is ten times better than sweating your ass off and almost passing out haha.

Re: Need to know what to do >_>
I worked at a restaurant, hated it. I also hate working with people, so I don't wanna be a bus boy or waitor.
The job I just called back about was my summer job, I quit because of the intense 40 degree celcius summer we had where I couldn't work outside for 10.5 hours a day. I quit that and he said come back anytime, now that I'm ready to work and it's nice and cold out and we have snow he doesn't need me until January >_> By the way this job consists of building two new apartment buildings with 29 rooms in each. Boss is awesome but I hate all the dicks who work there. They told my boss I was going on more breaks than I was supposed to when really all I did was go to my car to get a water bottle rofl. These are 25-40 year old men telling on a 17 year old at work.
I made 14 bucks an hour there, instead of the 10.25 minimun wage and I worked any hours I wanted, now I gotta work a schedual.
Also kmay, only 50 bucks a day? Are you talking about tips? My mom works at a small restaurant and makes nearly 100+ everyday just in tips alone.sigpicComment

Re: Need to know what to do >_>
I'm saying that you can easily make $50 a day.... just work there for a week and quit. then find someone less interpersonal.
you need the money idk why you are being so naive. pay it off and quit, a job like that doesn't mean anything in your future if you have other references.

Re: Need to know what to do >_>
I once earned like $400 in a day by solving the cube blindfolded on a corner in Philadelphia when I was bored once. Come to think of it, I have no idea why I didn't leverage that more heavily.
But yeah, just work there for a week and quit once you can. When I worked at Macy's, I gave them my two week's notice only 2 days into the job. I finished the two weeks before moving onto Nordstrom, which had slightly better pay.Last edited by Reincarnate; 11-30-2010, 02:57 PM.Comment

I loved working at walmart when I was there. But I like working with people and enjoyed my coworkers/bosses.
Labor jobs suck but I'm not going to rant on that right now

Alright so me and 3 friends were chilling at the local Canadian Tire parking lot, one of the friends got a job at pizza hut like 2 days ago and then one of the girls we know that works there came to talk to us and I asked her if they needed more people and I start sunday.
Awesome. got a job just by asking, no resume no nothing.sigpicComment

Re: Need to know what to do >_>
Rationally speaking here; why are you even driving if you can't afford a $50 dollar ticket? How on earth do you pay for gas? Do your parents pay for all of this? If so, they have the right to be upset if you get a ticket.
If you're going to do much driving, you should have available funds in the future to pay for things because **** like this happens all the time.
I can feel the frustration though. I got a parking ticket yesterday for apparently being too close to the corner of a street. According to the ticket, I was 18 feet away from the corner. Who even know you had to legally park 25 feet from the corner of a street?

Dude. Hiding from your parents won't do a damn thing. Tell them. I don't know your situation when it comes to getting a ride somewhere when you don't have a car. Sure they might flip out, but hiding a first ticket from your parents is a very stupid thing to do.
I'm sure they'll react to it fine. EVERYBODY gets a speeding ticket. Being honest to them might lower the possible punishment. Just don't be stupid and hide a ticket from your parents like my brother did.Comment

Re: Need to know what to do >_>
Okay starting to wonder if ENR is being for real. When you take your girlfriend out on dates (your treat?) do you actually ask your parents to give you the money to take her out? in a car that they own and pay the gas for....at 17? ((so your parents' treat)) Balls of steel.
I'm glad you have a job now. You really need it. Also, get that ticket paid ASAP before they charge you late fees.Last edited by Rubin0; 12-1-2010, 12:54 AM.The weight of what I say depends on how you feel.Comment

His treat, but he doesn't have $50... The last time I ate with my girl it was $50 and that is usually the min. I expect.
And what's all this crap about a job? Main post was 13 hours ago and you need to pay by Dec. 3rd? I highly doubt any official/legal job would even work in this situation.
Just borrow the money from someone other than your parents or sell some weed.Comment
