No It's not. Its very true. Lots of gangs (if not all) that use drug trafficking as a main source of income aren't just ignoring the government, their anti-government.

          This raises an ultimate point.

Really - why the hell does the media try to always make drugs look like a weapon to be feared? If you receive proper information about them and know both good and bad effects, then it's nothing more than just another product that can be used for recreation, and you're more likely to use it in moderation.

Knowing what happens when you mix certain things is also helpful. I view drugs and cigars as nothing more than products made purely for profit - but the media throws all this crap and makes them seem like a deadly uncurable epidemic which is not true at all.

            First off, "they're."

Secondly, Terrorism is the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion.
Being anti-government doesn't automagically make someone a terrorist.

Pft, the point was still made.

And I should have elaborated more. Lots of gangs get their point across by committing terrorist acts. It sends people a message, and gangs only run on fear. Terrorism instills fear.

I'd like to refer to this to clear things up a bit. I quickly made that edit, not explaining why I used the term "terrorism." I do not mean they are a group that are striving for a political purpose. I'm sort of using the term loosely in that lots of gangs try to instill terror unto others to show who's boss (and often are racially brought). I did not mean it the way it initially seemed. However, I did assume that people would understand this rather than jump to conclusions. Sadly, I was wrong.

Editing this post: I also like to say that many gangs have more purpose to their uprising than people think. A lot of people around here think gangs just like violence and drugs and just form gangs for whatever reason (never really explained). That's not true, some gangs have some reasonable excuses for forming gangs, and sometimes even want to disband their gang, however that cannot happen. In fact, I believe the majority of gangs somewhat do make a smaller form of "government" within the area that they live, since they set rules to set order to people within the gang, though I am not educated or informed on the numbers of gangs that do this.

Aite. Gangs are feared only by the people who are related to those gangs. As a general rule, gangs don't **** with people just for the sake of ****ing with people.

Gang wars effect only the people involved (and the police but fuc da police ya heard niga wut wut). Biggest death toll from a gang related incident = I can't find one lol.

Terrorist attacks are designed to strike fear into the general public. Such as 9/11 (in b4 'TWAS AN INSIDE JOB). Biggest death toll from a terrorist attack = somewhere in the realm of 80,000 to 120,000 civilians (atomic bombs dropped on Japan).

"Common definitions of terrorism refer only to those violent acts which are intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for a religious, political or ideological goal, deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants (civilians), and are committed by non-government agencies."

basically people say abortion only in cases of rape or incest because they don't want to look like an evil mofo BUT they don't want people to have abortions. it's a very token gesture because most people's abortions aren't because of rape or incest, and it also has the problem: how do you prove a baby is a rape baby in court?

saying that drugs should be legal except for this this this and this means you're not actually comfortable with legalizing drugs at all, because you reserve the right to pick and choose what other people are allowed to put into their body

Terrorists don't necessarily attack anyone, nor do gangs always attack the way said. Even against other gang members, it could still be considered a form of terrorism.

                            Re: Should drugs be illegal?

Almost every drug that exists and can be used for recreational purposes should be made legal. I for the most part only do weed and other naturals on a daily basis, but you best believe there are such things as responsible heroin users uncommon as they may be. I love heroin, ice, E, 2-ce and the rest of shulgins synthetic phenethylamines, amanitas, dmt, GHB, the list goes on. I've pretty much done them all in excess. I just love drugs. They are, put simply, an altering of your consciousness which we should have the unalienable right to do. Sometimes I'll get in the mood to start doing heroin. Sometimes I'll be in the mood to do meth. I do these drugs because they feel good, not because I'm addicted. If life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness do not include the right to experiment with ones own consciousness, then the declaration of independence isn't worth the hemp it's written on. All we need to do is to properly educate people about proper drug usage so that we don't have another statistic. People are people though, and are stupid, no need to elaborate; which is why most if not all severely stigmatized illegal substances will probably not be made legal ever, and it is unfortunate.

Well put, Korny. I think all drugs should be legalized under the given conditions:

-They aren't forcefully imposed upon anyone (advertised)
-They're done in private use (no public drug use)
-People are properly educated on the possible outcomes of excessive drug use.

I love a spliff or 10. Good stuff right there.

I'm on the fence with this one. If drugs are legal, they will be "pure" so there will be weird **** people bulk them up with like bin bag liners?! (True story) and more safe to use so to speak, as it will be controlled.

But I think that could get more people addicted to them than there already is? I know a lot of people can just take cocaine when they feel like it and not really get addicted, but what about that poor sod who does and ends up in a visious circle?
