Rice and Gatorade. Just eat and drink it until you are better.
I had to live off those 2 things for 2 1/2 weeks a year ago.
      It will help.

I once had bad KFC in grade 8, and a year or two I had the flu...same symptoms you had there, and both suck. For the most part you're just going to have to not eat and tough it out. God bless you @_@

Ginger ale works well for the bowels, if you can keep it down.

Yep, I'm with the 'It is food poisoning' crowd.

I've had my share of bowel related problems (indigestion, constipation, diahorrea)...I've had a few cases (including early this morning) where it got bad enough that I felt nauseous, but I've never had diahorrea + vomiting. And I've certainly never suffered for several days. In my case, it usually lets up after a couple/few hours at most.

Hope you feel better, I can't imagine anything being more miserable (reasonably speaking).

Basically, for the past five days, I have been liqui-****ting and vomiting myself into oblivion literally every 30-40 minutes. I am absolutely miserable and can't leave the bathroom. During the movie Watchmen, in theaters, I had to go to the bathroom at least 4 times. I'm losing a ton of water, so there is a huge fear of dehydration. The problem is that any water or food I take down makes me extremely nauseous. I have to focus hard on other things to avoid throwing up.

I'm really ****ing pissed off that this just HAS to happen during my spring break.

In recent days, I traveled from Philly to Portland. I had an Egg McMuffin at the airport in Chicago during an overlay. The day after I got sick, I realized that there were cat droppings in the corner of my room from my cat, which had been put down a week or two ago. I cleaned it up, but I wonder if sleeping in the same room as that stuff for a night caused something. Other than that, food, and travel, I don't know what else it could be. I've literally eaten nothing else except maybe a bowl of cereal (I have no idea what I am ****ting because I am not even eating anything). I've been drinking a bit of water, but not enough (it makes me want to puke).

All in all, my life is being ruined by poo. SOS.
I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING!!! ITS A BUG GOING AROUND! WHAT THE HELL!

No seriously I couldn't even go to sleep because of it. I sat on a toilet for most of the day with a bucket in front of me to catch the vomit. One of the WORST times I have ever been sick. I got it from one of my friends that had it before I think. Its called the norovirus if you want to look it up.

                  GOOD LUCK!

Re: Gross health problem, if anyone knows, help

There is a bad case of nurovirus (I believe is what it's called) going around right now. My mom works at a hospital and she's just getting lots of cases of it. Apparently lots of hospitals around the country are having the same cases. In fact, I just had it last week. What you are describing is EXACTLY what I went through. ****ting until nothing but liquid came out, vomiting constantly, and a very upset/hurting stomach. Seeing a doctor would help, but here's some tips:

If it is a virus, then you'll have to just let it run it's course. Rest on the couch and try to get over it, I know how you feel.

DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANY DAIRY. It has been proven that eating anything related or of dairy products will only make it worse since the toxins inside of you cannot break down the dairy substance.

Drink water, you need fluids. You also need lots of electrolytes since you're not getting any food and puking a lot. I DO NOT suggest Gatorade, as it is a very sweet energy drink, but rather G2 or Propel water. G2 would probably be better. Not as much sugar, electrolytes, and low calories or whatever.

Try to grain, but not too much. You need food, but try to keep it down. There's this one drug I took... I can't remember then name. Starts with a D. Ask the Doc about it and it'll help with the nausa.

Sucks it's on your break, I know how you feel bro.

On a side note, I heard Watchmen was really good, gonna go see it soon.

Re: Gross health problem, if anyone knows, help

That sucks bro...same exact thing happened to me last year. I was riding a bus home for Thanksgiving break and we made a stop at *woohoo* McDonalds along the way...yeah, no turkey for me that break. I actually (no joke) lost 6-8 pds in one day, mostly water weight, puking and diarrhea dumping my viscera inside out.

What helped me was pretty much eating nothing but light grains, bananas, and drinking gatorade like ****...even though I couldn't really keep it down. But yeah, just riding it out seems like the best solution for stomach-related problems :-/. A lot of the other advice given seems solid as well, and I'm glad you chose to see a doctor because 5 days seems quite long.

                        Hope you feel better!

Re: Gross health problem, if anyone knows, help

If you are going to try to keep some liquids down, I suggest you pull the whole suck on ice routine. Even freezing Gatorade would be fine. The only reason I say that is because it will really help you moderate how quickly you take it in. If your body is getting really dehydrated, you will instinctively want to drink more then your system can handle right now. Sucking on ice or popsicles (not eating/chewing) will help you slowly put fluids back into your system.

The only experience I've had similar to that was a case of e coli about four years back. It only lasted about three days, though. I went to the doctor to see if he could help. He gave me a shot in my ass that pretty much completely took away my nausea and vomiting.

I don't know why you've tried to go four or five days without getting help for this yet, but I hope things start gettin better for ya.

Food poisoning. No need to see a doctor, it'll go away on it's own. In the meantime just keep yourself hydrated and maybe take some anti-diarrhea pills. Should sell them cheap at any pharmacy near you. It'll be pretty important to stay hydrated so your body can work through it on it's own.

Also, avoid any semi-exotic or exotic foods for a bit.
