IMO, it's one of the bone/joint areas that are pretty disappointing to break, as you need your feet to carry your legs to move and do physical activities.

I once seriously broke my ankle in 1st grade, about 10 years ago...and my ankle was actually almost ripped entirely off; It was twisted back wards toward my body at about a 80-85 degree angle...took a few months to heal, but in your case, your injury doesn't sound as serious so shouldn't be a long recovery.
