Anyway, OP do you have a Canon? It looks like you used color accent in the purple gloves photo. If you do look into CHDK. It's a modified firmware for most Canons that gives you a crap load of more options to play with.

I think the reason they have a snap shot feel is because.
My camera is nothing special.
Its a Kodak esayshare C613
Nothing more then a digital camera
But i am looking into getting a rebel xti.
But its not going to be till feburary when i can afford it.

i never said i was terrible because of my camera i said my camera gives it the snapshot feel.

Nah, you can do all kinds of neat stuff even with cheap digital cameras.

Look into the manual see about changing f-stops and exposure times etc.


Also, work more on thinking about exactly what you're taking a picture of and/or what message you want to convey with your picture.

Honestly, these are myspace quality at best. Attempt to incorporate less trendy angles (dynamic angles aren't bad, but most of yours are WOO OVER THE HEAD SO MYSPACE), and use more subjects than people and people alone. Or, should you choose to continue taking pictures of people, vary them, make them genuinely interesting, not something so casual, should you want to be taken seriously. Also try not to use the flash so much, it really washes out your pictures; look into natural lighting (ie, the sun) or other external lighting to add depth to your compositions.

Whats this..."myspace quality" i have seen pros store there perfectly amazing pictures on it. so i think my photos are any web site quality,

Yeah, they look like myspace pictures. You have a long way to go if you want to be a photographer. That's just my opinion though.

Honest opinion? I've taken better shots on my old camera phones. They look like someone's personal photos, not photos with artistic merit and a particular attention to composition or coloring. Depending upon what type of camera you have (a crappy digital with auto settings, or a real camera with full control of aperture/shutter speed) you might want to go out in different lighting situations at nature walks or public urban places and try your hand at fundamentals. Well, even so, you should play around with settings. I managed to get some incredible shots with only a variety of presets while in Spain, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria, and a few other places.

As everyone said, these could be (a lot) better. First of all, learn to use GIMP or Photoshop. Read up on what to do with the lighting in your pictures, because you've got a lot of shadows on some of your indoor shots. You also need to up the saturation for these particular pictures to keep them from looking like a drab 35mm camera scan.

The bottom line here is that the Internet is your best resource.

I'll just give a little lesson in photography lol.
The three main factors of a shot are:
Lighting: Don't use a flash. Instead use natural lighting, or a good light source. Try to make some interesting shadows on the objects if you're using a light source.
Composition: Composition is really important. If you go around and photograph someone, and take too much of the background, the focus gets diverted to the background, instead of the target. And be daring in your angles, but don't overdo it too much.
Contrast: Like, a green bush with a single red flower in it stands out cause of the contrast. This is what you should go for, cause this is what makes people interested subconsiously.

If you want to be a professional photographer, I suggest you to go study on these three factors. It's actually more or less the basics of photography.
Alot of other factors should be taken in account as well, like depth of the picture (example: blurry backgrounds, sharp foregrounds/target), which tends to lay the focus on the target you are photographing, or what is happening the background depending on what style you use.
And try messing around with the settings of the camera like people have mentioned.

On a sidenote, I absolutely despise people who go around and buy some pretty expensive camera and then call themselves photographers. It actually takes time and lots of thought and experience to get good at it. And until you're good at it, you shouldn't call yourself a photographer.
(This isn't directed at 4manlovespie or whatever, just a random thought of mine. Although he shouldn't call himself a photographer yet either. He still has a lot to learn.)


EDIT: Shopping a picture should be the last thing you think off. If you can't master the basics, the picture will be **** no matter how much you alter it.

Please ignore everyone who's saying "LERN PHOTOSHOP AND U WILL BE GUD LOL", that should be the last thing on your mind.

I think your main problem is that all you do is pick a subject and shoot it. This is the complete opposite of what photography is as an art form. You need to learn the basic principles of design before you pick up a camera again, because I don't see a single use of them anywhere in any of your shots. These are not art in any sense of the word.
