He should probably be paying attention anyway. Seriously.

"Can't prove nothing." You shouldn't be playing games.

well teachers do have the ultimate authority for petty things purely because they don't matter in the grand scheme of things. If a teacher accuses you of something that can get you suspended or something and there is no sustainable evidence, that goes to higher authority and you will likely be deemed innocent.

You, the student are in control of a teacher in high school because they are teaching you, it is their job to make sure students do well (not necessarily understand the stuff. I like to believe most actually care and it isn't just a job for money...) in their class. The students are in the ultimate control.

For example I changed the way my Spanish teacher runs class just by talking to her and giving her suggestions on how to run the class (I had to be careful how I approached her so she wouldn't take it the wrong way and thankfully it went over smoothly) and it is much more productive and endurable for everyone now. The high school teacher must bend to the students in order to keep their job.

Not true mate. Thats really barely true at all, but it is true that you gain more control as you progress through academia. You have to understand, they don't have to bend to the students at all in order to keep their job. The reason your plan worked in a Spanish class is because you respectfully addressed a new style, and then brought her DOWN to your level. (The fact that you had to be careful and respectful, is a clear sign that your the lesser one trying to approach the upper ranked being.

What your talking about has nothing to do with control, but increased interaction and a lessoning of the difference. Regardless, the teacher in high school has more control on them, and thusly must pass that control unto you. In college, the teacher has much less restrictions, especially on the upper level courses and can then pass on that open-ended curriculum unto you.

Try that mindset from now on.

yeah I guess your right. I just like to think I'm in control I suppose. Forming a relationship with the teacher does help because they listen to you and respect you.

Jesus rzr, you're like some weird level of low-class retard or something.

Use a damn bathroom like the rest of the civilized world -- you're not a leaky puppy or some ****. Didn't even lay down the newspaper, I bet.

BTW also horrible example -- evidence is all up in that ****.

Thank goodness that anyone worthwhile (i.e. anyone not retarded) will graduate in a few years or sooner and no longer have to be burdened by your presence.

                Go play in traffic.

Re: Law where if you can't prove nothing, you can't do nothing about it.

Oh yeah, also, to keep on topic.

It's really annoying when a student does something stupid and then tries to get out of it by trying to act all high-and-mighty with some newfound, deep knowledge of logic and the law. Please realize: You don't know law, and you probably suck at logic. In school, teachers have the final say.

Odds are you guys had your laptops shut down because you were disruptive/annoying/making too much noise/talking/whatever. In high school (and even in college) people got away with messing around on their laptops all the time during class, and nothing happened because they don't bother anyone. However, if/when they were told to shut the laptop (even if they weren't bothering anyone), they did so respectfully, because it wasn't a big freaking deal. The fact that you're even upset over this implies immaturity, which further implies that the problem was not that you were using the computer, but that you guys were being disruptive. This is further supported by your previous thread where you basically stated that you don't do your homework or listen to teachers, you fight back and argue often, sleep, etc. Basically, you have an issue with authority in general. The teacher probably didn't really care what you guys were doing, but knew you guys were being annoying, caught one of the guys playing a game, and just made you all shut down so you guys would chill.

But really, even if you guys weren't disruptive (which you probably were), she can still make you close your laptops. You don't have a "right" to use one during class. Also, there's nothing saying that a substitute teacher somehow has fewer rights than the normal, regular teacher. They have all the same rights, powers, and responsibilities too.

So, yeah, as Arnold would say, stop whining.

I myself prefer a pencil thank you.

In response to what you said EnR, I once e-mailed a teacher bashing her. Like she was teaching my 6th grade friend's class Algebra, and she basically gave them a 5 minute lecture and gave them the homework. He was struggling with it, so I helped him. Pissed off, I e-mailed her. The next day she changed her ways and talked to the students about how they felt about her and if they were stressed or whatever. So yeah I made a DIFFERENCE.

Those aren't rights you should have (to ENR)

I mean, I had no right to talk back to the teachers who gave me ISS for raising my hand or slammed doors in my faces and told me that a guy could kill me outside of a classroom... because no one will believe you anyways.

I mean, seriously, I have a better reason to make a thread like this...

My teacher gave me a 20 on a test because I used fractions instead of decimals and put "Pencils and Erasers" as something I would be thankful for this Thanksgiving...

the only two I got right were Avogadro's Number (6.022 x 10^23) and some question that ended up having the answer being a whole number.

that is pretty disturbing kitty, but did you follow verbal directions? she could have specified decimals to be rounded to the largest xth digit.

The teacher didn't leave the supply teacher any work. So basically, we expected her to be cool and let us lisin' to music and play games, search the web on our laptops, which most of our teachers do. But instead, this sub ****ing sits right behind us half the time (us four) and then doesn't even look at the other 5-6 people with laptops scattered around the class.
