College = school dedicated to a specific subject (ie Art College)
University = Various Majors of various subjects (ie UCLA)

Or something like that. All I know is Colleges are smaller than Universities.

And I am going to two years of a Junior College then to the San Diego Art Institute to get my bachelors in Animation or Game Design (havent quite decided which one yet).
    Your fucking kidding me.

I was going to do that program, but believe me, the money you have to pay is not worth the education there. The cirriculum taught there you can learn on your own in a year or less. I was reading that big ass purple sheet they gave out, and half the courses on there I could already preform, and learn if needed.

So i decided to go to San Diego city college for 1-2 years, transfer to SDSU in the Graphic Design program, then work

why doesnt anyone know the real difference between college and university?

      uhg

college is more hands on , usually has some kind of internship to get your diploma , you get way more workforce skills

university is more about knoledge then experience , more theory based and more money.
for less money and a shorter time , you have a better chance of getting a decent job going to a college then a university because of the skills you have already aquired.. although if you wish to specialize in something..oh say, you want to be an orthodontis... its 8 years in university, but you get + $200 000 a year starting out. but then again its like $65 000 worth of schooling ;/ so university really only pays off if you are going to specialize in an area.

im probably going to go to college unless i get a scholarship to georgia tech for golf.. which i prolly wont get cuz im not good enough. 2nd in ontario in rankings but that still wont cut it.. probably the top 2 in canada will get a scholarship if you count canada.. im like 16th in my age group .. all the good junior golfers out there know that georgia tech is the best school to go to if you want to be on a golf team... Tiger went to UCLA but i still wouldnt want to live in los angelis... really dirty city and the crime is astronomical... (im one to talk... sum kid got shot 10 times like 3 minutes from my house... he was 16 :/)

This is the difference between college and univeristy.

College is a higher education school focusing on a general area.

A university is several colleges on one site. (site as in land plot)

oh and if you disagree with me, your wrong. 8)

I'll be going to the United States Air Force academy, basically the same thing as West Point(Army), just designated for the Air Force. In the begginning you are singled out as a "cadet plebe." For a period of about two months you are ridiculed, tortured, hazed, demeaned, and treated cruelly overall. After the plebe period you are then transitioned into cadet private, the "freshman" distinction of the classes. Before I go to the Academy though, I am going through basic training, technical training, and I am being deployed to either Afghanistan or South Korea for six months. The Air Force Academy is one of the hardest schools to get into in the nation. They ask for well rounded candidates, those with exceptionable athletics, academics, and leadership abilities. After I graduate, I will be commissioned into the Air Force as an Officer, 2nd Lt. Almost all of the Generals are Academy grads.

You really are right. For instance most universities have a college of comp. sci. a college of arts and sci. whatever...

I'm going to College, but I really have no idea what I'm going to do with myself. A career involving computers might be nice (I'm taking Cisco Computer Networking/Sciences next year and the year after), but I'm also considering something in Law (my dad's a lawyer, my team almost made it to State in Mock Trial) or Medicine.

                              University.

U of Michigan, Kalamazoo, an Ivy, or maybe like...Washington of St. Louis or McGill, or something (I think those are the ones...maybe).

I'm not even in HS now, so its hard to say.

I don't know about you guys, but after high school, i'd like to go home. Wow, getting from high school to college in passing period must be really hard. Only like 6 minutes to get there. Not to mention all the homework. Man, you guys are insane.

But really though, I am not sure. If you've seen office space, I think i'd just like to do things like Peter Gibbons. Yeah, that would be cool.
