I had braces when I was younger too. I have a retainer that I basically don't even wear anymore even though I should when I go to sleep every night. But seriously. Just wear it for like the first two months or so and don't even bother. My teeth haven't changed since I took off my braces. Retainers are only useful if you're still growing. But your teeth and the inside of your mouth don't really. xD

I've had mine for nearly 3 years, but my orthodontists are really bad at their job. I should be getting them off soon if they got off their lazy ass and tightened something.

When I initially got forced into getting braces, I didn't think that the end result would be worth the trouble. Every single day for two years, I had to take delicate care of my teeth, often spending fifteen minutes a day flossing and cleaning out of fear that I might get cavities because apparently, you are more prone to cavities with braces on.

The day I removed my braces, I enjoyed my flawless smile, just to be told the day after that I had a cavity on one of my molars. I go in to get a filling and find out that they placed it on the wrong the side, so I had to go get another filling on the teeth that actually had the cavity. A couple months after getting braces, the ugliest gap in my front top two teeth started developing. I believe that my smile now and the condition of my teeth are far worse than they were before. I went through two years of hell for nothing.

I had braces for 6 1/2 years, and my teeth weren't even messed up to begin with, x-rays just showed that my teeth would eventually be crooked...so yeah, worst time of my life, I was so happy when I got em off.

So grats on that, quit licking your teeth.
