Look at trends, aspirations of Americans...Poll what many seem to want, and what many strive to become. Demographics, demographics.

Urgh. Since I'm here... The American Dream is whatever you want it to be. In different point in history, it meant different things. Back during the early 1800s, it was the American Dream to own your own plot of land and be a self sufficient, independent farmer. Look at Whitman's I Hear America Singing.
The American Dream is civil rights. It's a two story house and 2.5 kids. It's whatever you want it to be. The American Dream of two different people can even contradict each other. You can dream of being Tony Montana if you really want.Comment

Seeing the high amount of poor grades in various schools, the American Dream is probably to live the life in the simplest way possible...which is impossible for most.
