Ahh.. everyone I know loves Inu-Yasha. But in my opinion (as a not-frequent anime watcher) Evangelion and a few others that aren't so popular like Serial Experiments Lain, and Silent Mobius.

Evangelion is weird but cool, Trigun rules all your asses, Cowboy bebop is good, and WHERE THE HELL IS EXCEL SAGA??? Excel Saga rules all...its debatably better than trigun...no, nothing rules the trigun, but its better than everything else up there.

Also, to piss off all you DBZ fanboys, that show is overrated to the macs. It gets much more hype and airtime than it deserves, and it also got old in about the third grade.

Excel Saga is very good, but it isnt top 5 good...mainly because it is a comedy, and, in my opinion, got sort of old after awhile.

I guess it's only for sophisticated people the understand the heart-wrenching story and the and the drop-dead gorgeous animation
plus you can't help but love the characters from the cat girl to the main character" ZERO" now tell me that doesn't just kick the most *ss you've ever seen.

Excel Saga is the absolute strangest anime I have ever seen. Period.(but it has its moments, I must admit)

Pilot Candidate (or Candidate for Goddess) did have awesome animation...but horrid CG work, and the fight scenes were as boring as the home shopping network. The story doesnt even have a conclusion.

I also noticed you are implying that I am not sophisticated. Well, I spent 2 years researching the End of Evangelion, I have a Ph.D in the philosophy of Evangelion and I fully understand the series. Same goes for Furi Kuri as well as RahXephon. Pilot Candidate is a joke compared to Eva.

And the only good Ruroni Keshin episodes are the first 4 OVAs.
