psh God didn't invent jack. here's why I don't belive in religion. I think when you die, you're done. Thats it. Over. No heaven or hell...no afterlife shit...its over. Theres no logical reason why you should even come back after you're dead. So, if heaven and hell don't exist, by definition God doesn't exist. Thats my fucked up take on it.

OK, can you explain to me, then, the effect or prayer? Neural analyses of people who pray regularly show high brain activity in certain sectors of the brain that are almost completely idle in people who don't regularly pray. Zen Buddhist monks, who are basically the avatars of the concept of the soul, can defy the standard laws of physics with thier meditative skills, walking on sheets of suspended paper without breaking them. There's a myriad of scientific, physical evidence that humans have a spiritual power that other animals simply can't touch. Alternative medicine revolving around the spirits energies (acupuncture, herb treatments, reiki, craniosacral, attunement, the list goes on and on and on) have consistantly performed just as well (or better) than hard-science Western medicine in FDA studies. How do you explain, logically, the undeniable FACT that humans have a spiritual energy, a SOUL, that is UNIQUE to them, if God or some other omnipotent being didn't create it? If God didn't exist, how would spiritual energy come to be in the first place? Chimps and dogs can't just meditate and heal themselves like humans can. It just doesn't make sense to deny the existance of the soul, and once you admit that it's there, where did it come from?

The planets are there because they can be. Just "chillin'" and "keepin' it real" out in space until the sun explodes...and then they are going to freak out and spiral off into the cosmos until they get sucked into the orbit of another star/large planet, or crash into another planet/star, or get sucked into a black hole....or crash into jesus/God or something if that is what you believe....although if you believe that then you probably believe that the sun will not explode....so then everything is going to be alright in your world until we blow ourselves up with nukes or something.
