4000 students? Jesus Christ, that must be hell. My last school had 2500, and even that was totally insane.
I went from a school that had 350 students, in totality from Pre-K to 8th grade, to a high school that had 3600 students from 9-12th grades. Talk about insanity. I got lost several times my first day, and I don't think I ever met more than 40% of my own grade.
It's sad how people who send bomb threats to school trivialize ther seriousness and danger of real bomb threats. If people keep making bomb threats so that they won't have to take a test the next day, etc., eventually, people might start ignoring them entirely, assuming all of them to be a joke. Then, the day when they completely ignore it, it might be the day a real threat is sent. =(
If someone would want to bomb the school.. i don't think they would put a threat up.

One time a friend of mine carved there's a bomb in locker ___. Eventually when the teacher found it, they had us all go home. It was a nice 2 period day.. but my friend got expelled.... yea they don't take that stuff too lightly. And I think in my HS career, we've had about 4 and our school was only about 1000 kids. (10-12th only though.)
The geniuses behind it put a smoke bomb in the bathroom.
It was funny, actually, because they thought it was a fire for half a second before noticing the tin foil on the ground where it was coming from. (After the bathroom had 10 minutes to drain itself, of course.)
When I was in 6th grade we had a lot. On 9/11 we had a bomb threat that totally freaked me out and we spent the day at the high school next door (like that would help). The next day we got 5 more that only took about 30 minutes each to make the school clear. About a week later Crime Stoppers posted a 100 dollar reward if you told who it was...the same day his best friend told them.
If someone would want to bomb the school.. i don't think they would put a threat up.
Yep. That's why i laughed when 3600 students left crying home to their mommies saying they're gonna get blown up. Seriously. If any bomber was smart, they wouldnt tell the whole friggin school about it on a website over the weekend (myspace to be exact..bulletin galore). Giving people a chance to go home ruins the whole point of a bomb threat. Especially since the idea is to kinda kill as many ppl as possible. Letting people know about it ahead of time gets them prepared.
I guess some of you were in HS during 9/11, but I doubt ANY of you were in HS during the Columbine activities or other school shooting sprees... as I was a freshman.
Believe it or not, I live very close to where the Columbine thing happened. Luckily though, I didn't go there. I remember it was something like these 2 friends had been planning to have a shooting for awhile, and finally went through with it. They killed tons of people, and in the end ended up killing themselves.
I have actually never had a bomb threat at my school. I think the worst that's happened was someone dropped some fire into the sewer by our school.
The reason that your school gets bomb threats is simple: Your teachers and counselors and students all suck and some people are angry about it.

There's been way to many bomb threats around here to even count. We've never been sent home for one either. All the administrators do is come on the tv and say there has been a bomb threat and the school has already been searched, no need to worry. The only reason we've been sent home for is for power failures and pesky squirrels. (A squirrel, my freshman year, ventured in the transfomer of the power lines and power went out.)
I remember in Elementary school there was a bomb threat in a 3rd grade class so we all went outside and sat around for 2 or 3 hours while the school was searched and people questioned.
I rememeber in 6th grade, there was a Gas leak near one of the portables cause of some construction going on. It was a huge health hazard to the school since gas lines ran to the school, and they wanted everyone outside cause it could cause a fire and be damaging to internal organs if fumes are inhaled too excessively. It was gay, we all just walked outside in a "single file" line and sat outside in front of the school waiting for it to explode. Didn't happen, so we were stuck in the heat for about 3 hours.
