    Most teachers stress the required font size when a paper is due, because students are notorious for using larger-than-twelve point fonts to help fill up the pages faster. In your instance, it was just a case of, "Well, I would have to punish someone for going OVER the required limit, so you lose, too."

    What's more, I've had a few professors who wouldn't hesitate to award a zero for tiny slips like that, so just be happy she took it, because a few docked points is better than a zero, and pay more attention next time.

        We all have teachers like that. My teacher, Mr. Marsh(gay name eh?) gave me trash pickup and a lower grade because I was inches out of my chair when the tardy bell rung. That's only one of my teachers.
