You are fucked. And you have no one to blame but yourself.

But the good news is that you are still in high school, so you might not be completely and utterly fucked. If you were in college you would be expelled pretty much instantly. Anyway, don't think you can fool your vice principal - it is incredibly obvious that you plagarized, and lying to your teacher about it just made you look like a complete idiot.

Don't try and make up stories to get away with this, because they won't work. Be honest about it with the vice principal, and try to start a discussion on what you might be able to do to "make up" for this. I assume you have already been accepted into a college, so your main goal here is to find a way to not have this situation screw up that acceptence.

And if you ever do get the urge to plagarize at all while in college, don't. Even if you only copy a sentence, they will catch you - most schools have very sophisticated plagarism detection programs that automatically search the internet. among many other sources. And if they catch you in college, then NOTHING will be able to save you.

That was a stupid idea. I always wait til the last second, type some of it up before i go to bed and then wake up at about 5 to finish it. Everyone is probably right, telling the truth is probably the best answer. good luck

I just wrote a 4 page paper relating Kamikaze's and suicide bombers.. I had one line that was copied from a book and I forgot to cite it.. and I got a B just for that.. it was a 100 quality paper.. wahtever.

My idea is this, the essay found on the site is mine... I was the one that submitted it to the site... There is no author, and the essay was written this year... They can't just go and start calling me guilty, because they don't have any proof that I am guilty if I say that...

That and a little something on the plus side... The V.P... Was the ex-VP at my junior high and we are hockey buddies for the past 6 years... I don't think I'll get in much trouble... (I hope :S)

You need to tell the truth. The sooner the better. And you need to work with your vice principal to find a way to resolve this that will not fuck up your college plans.

Admit you did it, apologize and ask if there is anything you can do to make it up. If you lie there's a good chance of either failing the class or your college cancelling there acceptance (Or both, depends on the school).

You're lucky you're still in HS.


And all the VP would have to do is contact one of the sites and ask for a specific date of when the essay was uploaded. If it was before the essay was assigned you're screwed.

So this is how it all went down... I lied... If I didn't... I would be in A LOT more trouble than I am now... Aherm...

The VP I ended up talking to was a different one than my teacher said I'd talk to because there are 3 VP's, one for each area of the alphabet because our high school has about 2100 students... Hanyways... This VP is the same VP that took it easy on me as a sophomore when I majorly fucked up and could have had my computer priveledges taken away for 3 years, but he just gave me a warning... That basically happened this time as well... He took my side, believed me, and talked out with me what will happen...

This is what I told him...

I lost my sources, both hard copy, and in my e-mail (that much was true), that and the essay that my teacher found, was the essay that I had submitted before I did some more revisions to it... The reason I had submitted it was because a friend was bragging about getting his essay posted, so I did as well... I also said that the essay becomes their property once you submit it and that the essay is by an anonymous author (that much is true as well)... Soooo... Pretty much there is nothing they can do to prove that I did copy from the website, but at the same time, there is nothing I can really do to prove (and lie) that I posted the essay...

Pretty much what this means, cuz my teacher is an ass, is that he's making me be guilty until proven innocent, and last time I checked, we don't live in Iraq, so that is pretty chatched up...

And tomorrow I'll be talking to my councelor (i'm gonna find some sources tonight to hopefully prove something) and see what will happen, because as of now, my 6th period English is going to become a study hall, and I'm going to lose credit for 2nd semester English, and then I can either take night school (which i can't with work and all), or I can do correspondence for $90 and that is an online class that I can take to recieve credit from a university...

So yeah... I'll update more tomorrow on what happens, but this actually isn't turning out as bad I thought it would, and I would like to thank all of you out there in the FFR community who have talked to me through PM's and MSN to calm me down through my stressed out phase, and to all those who have suggested taking the honest route (which if I did, would consist of suspension for AT LEAST 2 weeks), and most of all thanks to Cypher for caring...

I really hope I don't have to pay $90 for a correspondance class, but the plus is that I get to take it all online, at home, on my own time, at my own speed, and it won't effect my permanent record at all, which is the coolest thing, and a study hall is always sweet, cuz that means no homework...
