    Another alternative would be to simply eat the snow, and urinate it out. If hot water is what you're going for.
    Lowers your body temperature faster. Not a good plan. If you don't die from popping your cells you'd probably stop moving from the cold.

    Good solution: Piss it out. Then you've got alcohol and the SALT. Still, warm water. Bad side: inhaling ammonia.

        Hmm.. chardish, alcohol inhibits a hormone that controls water absorbtion in the blatter, so he probably wouldn't have been able to pee enough if he hadn't drunk the alcohol. Also the alcohol wouldn't metl the snow. It is volatile enough that whatever didn't sink the the bottom would most likely evaporate and really all you'd have is packed down snow.

        REally, I don't think this guy was in all that deep if his pee really made any difference to how much snow he could put out of the way. I would say he was already a little bit drunk when he thought of that idea

            The ammonia might be a bigger problem if a cat was pissing for you- but humans don't have quite enough ammonia in piss to do any serious damage.

                I'm surprised that nobody's brought up the fact that his urine would be far warmer than the bottled beer. Even if alcohol's freezing point is lower than that of water, it'd already be much closer to that point than the urine.
