Respect is EARNED, not just given. If they want respect they need to earn it. I get what your saying in your argument but going off on a slight tangent, I'm quite sick of this whole "treat women with respect" horseshit....where's the word "men in that statement because we're people too. I get that nice gestures on dates and such can go along way but for god's sake it shouldn't be the guys that always feel implied to do these things (hold doors, pay for dinner, etc.) Whether it's friends, a relationship, or marriage, both men and women so treat each other EQUALLY.
